Run. Lots of it. Cardio = fat burner. You can do a little resistance training too. It's good for the core strength (prevents injuries) AND it increases your metabolism (more muscle mass = increased metabolism).

As far as diet, you don't have to do anything extreme. Increase veggies for sure. Many have fiber in them and fiber helps clear things out as well as make you feel full longer (any food with fiber does, really).

You may want to approach a better diet by gradually cutting out bad things like soft drinks or fried foods. Choose one or two things that you want to cut out and give it a week or two (or more). Then add something else to that list. Eventually, you won't crave that stuff anymore AND your body will start eventually choosing healthier foods over junk. People don't often listen to their bodies and what it craves or it's way too conditioned to go for the junk that increases those happy endorphins. :p It sounds tough, but it's a pretty amazing thing. I experienced this with a behavior change project over the span of 6 weeks.

Carbs are not bad. People seem to think that they are. They're needed if you want to start working out. Just watch QUANTITY. People always have to be extreme. Rawr there's tons in my diet, but if I want to lose weight that means NONE in my diet! Puhlease. Stop and think about how many carbs you consume and maybe try to cut back by half and replace with fruits, veggies, and protein.

Keep in mind, it takes time. If you go about it the right way, it'll become a habit and won't be as hard to upkeep. It'll be a rough start, but once you get going, it's relatively easy to upkeep.

No butter, No chocolate. No cheese. No soda. no alcohol. No sauce.

Yeah, except you CAN have carbs, just scale back on them a bit. :/ Increase fruit and veggie intake. Work on cutting out one or two items every week or two. Oftentimes, what makes diets so hard is that people cut out everything at once. Baby steps makes it so much easier to do.

Running is the best way to get started, followed by a strict diet.

How strict? You can only eat one bad meal PER WEEK. That's what it takes to lose 20 pounds In the first month or so. That comes off easiest if you are strict and work hard.

When you get more fit, you can afford to not spend 45 minutes doing cardio. Try full body exercise routines like the M-100. They take 5-6 minutes and burn you out. But you need a decent level of fitness to get through all 100.
