How can I get used to drinking more water and what does drinking lots of water do for your health?

I'm pretty healthy in general, but for some reason I hate water. I don't drink a lot of nasty things like soda and coffee but I do drink juice and eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

Somehow I cannot drink more than a bottle of water at once without feeling like it's going to come back up, but I really want to get better about that.

What things can I do to help me get more used to drinking water? How much water should I be drinking daily? In what ways does drinking lots of water improve your health?
