I'm freaking out that I might have diabetes?

Okay so I don't have all the symptoms but I read that sometimes you gets pins and needles that I have right now (I'm not sure if that's from spending about 5 hours in heels last night though) and I've had itchy...pubes lol. Like not crabs, just really itchy skin around that area, but it's not persistent it comes and goes. I've not had the greatest diet since starting college so I'm wondering would that because it? Does any one have diabetes that had these symptoms? Thanks for your answers I'm kinda worried :/

I don't think you should worry so much. Those are very non-specific things that may not even be diabetes.

I say go to your doctor and have them run some tests. Get them to do some blood work for you. You can get it done every year, I encourage it. I have hypothyroidism, and so I know that having a chronic illness is no fun. And it can be scary. But I don't think you should worry.

Does your family have a history of Diabetes? If so it does put you at a higher risk for getting it, but that doesn't mean you will. Eating bad for a few months is not going to make you get diabetes.

But making healthy choices and monitoring your health by getting blood work done yearly and having a check up can prevent you from getting diabetes. It's the best thing you can do. And even if you do end up getting it, many people have it and live long and healthy lives. You just have to make better choices.

Itchy pubes? I've never heard of that being a sign. But if diabetes runs in your family and you're overweight as well as you eat a lot of bad things then you can be at risk of it. It sounds like you're fine. I have it. You feel really dizzy and tired constantly, especially if you go without eating. You just need to try to eat better. And the pins and needles on your feet feeling is probably from your heels if you don't usually get it other than when you wear them for a long time.

well. I've been a diabetic for 13 years, and you're not hitting on the major symptoms, so you likely dont. the biggest few symptoms are dizziness with low bs, loss of thought process, and then passing out with low levels. with high, you feel really sleepy and you're thirsty all the time and you really have to go to the bathroom... so I think you're fine.

These aren't typical diabetes symptoms, but having a bad diet can because all kinds of skin problems. This sounds more like stress symptoms, but NO ONE can say for sure, you'd need an md opinion.

I have it and those are not the symptoms. Wear shorter heels or use an insole when you wear high heels and drink more water and use lotion for itchiness. If you are worried go to your doctor for a check up. It would help to try to eat healthier, but then again most people will benefit from that.

I have some symptoms of diabetes and I don't have diabetes. Don't worry yourself out so much. Of course you should go to the doctor if you think you might have it, but most likely you don't. Being itchy sometimes and having body parts fall asleep once in a while can be normal.

If you're overweight, have a poor diet, and don't exercise then you are at risk of developing diabetes.
