A high pain tolerance will help, right?

I am having ACL reconstruction surgery on February 29th, and I was wondering if anyone else who had this surgery could relate their experience? I've Googled some and all of them said after the surgery was very painful... I have a pretty high pain tolerance but I still would like to know how you felt about it :) Or what medication did they give you? Thanks! :)

I've had surgery for torn muscles and bone splinters in my arm and also have a high pain tolerance but when I came out of surgery in the recovery room I was definitely in pain. I took a lot of drugs for the next few weeks so I didn't feel or remember much from that period

Yes, it will require a lot of painkillers, for weeks I'm afraid. It doesn't quiet down for quite a while, there's so much cutting involved. But it's not all that bad, you can still function OK and ignore it, but it will be constant.

u won't feel pain when they put you on tons of morphine or oxycontin

nope, but drugs are honestly gonna numb any pain that you might feel.
