Have you ever had a kidney stone?

So, I've spent the last two days in the hospital and turns out I have a kidney stone :'(  I had excruciating  pain Friday morning and then again Sat night for over 12 hrs! So I have to still pass the stone and it SUCKS waiting for it! Cause I know it's going to hurt so much! Has anyone else ever had one?

I actually just got though having a kindney stone myself, so I know how you feel. I just had

mine in January and it was horrible, I was in so much pain and really really sick. But after

going to three different medical places, I finally went to a place where they helped me.

they gave me some serious painkillers and a medicine called Flomax, which opens everything

up and makes it easier to pass the stone. Anyway, I'm all better now.

So as people on here have said, drink lots of water, especially while you have it, because

it helps flush it out. You can also drink lemonade and orange juice, that helps too. The docter

also told me to walk around and not to lay down all the time, if you move around that also helps

it come out faster, but don't do anything to intense. Just walk around your house or something.

As far as passing the stone goes, I though it would hurt too. But it didn't, I went to the bathroom

and then looked at the toliet paper before I threw ot in the toliet and I notice this stone and it

was the stone. So it didn't hurt, so don't worry about it.

I've had over 12 of them in my liftetime and I only just turned 17. I don't get them from drinking soda and stuff either. In fact I don't drink soda at all lol. They aren't sure what the cause of mine are yet but my mom tends to get them a lot too...

But yes, they're very painful. I don't go to the hospital for them since I'm so used to them. It's just normal routine for me when I get them now. I usually end up throwing up so much that there's nothing left in my stomach and the stone doesn't come out..the way it's supposed to? I'm not sure if I throw it up too, or if that's possible. Although I think it's been a year since my last one so that could be a good thing...

Yes they hurt so bad!  I feel your pain "hugs" all I can say is be glad your urethra is about 4 times shorter than a males so yours will pass a lot quicker. Average female urethra is about an inch and a half mans is about 8 or 9 inches. Passing through my boy parts like that I was almost in tears. But you'll get through it. Drink tons of water and take a strong painkiller.

Sorry this happened to you so young.   In general it's much older people.  Often these days they have a treatment to break up the stones so they don't hurt so much; I guess for some reason that won't work for you.

Ouch ): I've never had it but I know people who have. Its not fun. Drink plenty of water and try to relax, I know this is probably hard to do. Painkillers and maybe a hot bath sound like a good idea for your situation.

I've never been, but I feel something hurt at my lower back. I don't see a doctor yet, I just hope I don't have it.

I had a kidney stone. I thought it was appendicitis, to be honest. Never felt pain like it.
