There's approximately 60% protein and 30% dairy/carbs (10% water) in every meal for me.
It depends on how much/intensity off your workout. I usually aim for a gram of protein per pound to keep my muscles lean and the physique they are at now. If you want to keep tearing and rebuilding, closer to 1.5-2 grams of protein per pound. I also use a preworkout drink called superpump. This increases the intensity of my workout greatly but you need to consume a lot of water during and after your workout especially if you use a preworkout powder.
You need about a pound of protein per pund of bodyweight per day. For example I weigh 140 pounds. That means I need to eat 140 grams of protein a day to build muscle.
Whey protein is the only thing you need, the rest is trash. Your diet is the most important thing when building muscle.

I just take a scoop of protein powder after a workout, in addition to any protein I eat during the day (Since I eat meat or dairy with every meal, a decent amount)
Supplements are mostly a money scam. Except older people (30+) benefit pretty well from creatine. There are amino acids in protein powder, so doesn't really matter that much. Might make a tiny difference, but not enough to be worth your money. You need about a GRAM of protein per pound of bodyweight per day. Mr Flirtatious below weighs 140 pounds. That means he needs to eat 140 grams of protein a day to build muscle.
Supplements - Any vitamin supplements are good. Amino acid precursors for protein building, magnesium tablets to avoid muscle cramp.depending on your metabolism. Either you have a low or high metabolism.
I get mine from natural foods...
I think you should get like 2grams per body weight something like that but 2-4 scoops a day is about all you needGenerally as much as grams you weigh.
