Is anyone here knowledgable about nut/chocolate allergies in respect to lotion ingredients?

My boyfriend is allergic to chocolate and nuts. Ever since we started dating I've had a hard time finding lotions that don't contain almond oil. Today I finally thought I found one that wouldn't irritate him, but then I read that it had cacao (cocoa) in it. And cocoa is in chocolate. So since my boyfriend is allergic to chocolate, will this lotion irritate him because of the cocoa?

I have a nut/peanut allergy and yes it completely sucks.

I've had to read the ingredients on basically everything.. it's nice your more then willing to make sure and double check it says a lot.

It's hard to say, I believe it's rare for someone with a chocolate allergy to be allergic to cocoa

Honestly I would just ask him and make sure..

well cocoa butter may or may not have the things he's allergic to. So can you ask him what exactly he is allergic to if he knows? if its a protein or the oil etc. only he would know.

you need to find out what substance in chocolate he is allergic to. if it's cocoa, the lotion may irrate him. you also need to find out how severe the allergy is - I've got a friend who cannot eat nuts, but can use things containing it on her skin.

That might affect him because cocoa is really chocolate. That's what chocolate is made of :P
