I think it depends. Some sparkling waters aren't that great for you because they contain fake sugars, sodium, and weird additives that are chemically synthesized (like aspartame, found in some flavored sparking waters and all sugar-free gum I've seen thus far). I think if it's literally JUST sparkling water, or sparkling water with no sugar (included fake sugar) added, it's good.

I've always thought that although not as good as water, it is better for you than soda as it contains no calories etc.
Any water has 0 calories if there isn't already added anything else, like sugar.
Also water itself cannot be unhealthy.
It's OK to drink carbonated water. It's not advisable to drink it before a vigorous workout
