I use natural remedies, try homeopathy or Bach flowers.

If you choose Bach flowers, use healingcombinations.com it's a wonderful website with helpful remedies, I grew up taking these when I was sick and never have been seriously sick, the longest I've been sick was probably two days, tops. This website helps because it has combinations of Bach flowers, you can get custom ones or general ones. some hot tea and brandy, with lemon and honey(preferablly raw). I don't take pills, I haven't since I was a kid. Sickness is good, it means your body is doing it's job and fighting off the virus.

also fresh squeezed OJ and home made soup and a hot bath.

for a stuffy nose, steam your face, and like ketfoen said you can use eucalyptus leaves, I would avoid using a nette pot,it seems to invasive. You can also rub vic's on your chest, I personally don't use it because it has petroleoum.. hey but this reminds me I want to make a natural verison, yay!

generally available in the US, lol. The US is the country drugged on drugs and imo have to many kinds of drugs and medicines for colds and flu's and anything you can think of.

But if you wanna recover quickly just take a big bowl of hot water put a spoon of salt in it and some eucalyptus or mint leafs or essential oil if you have any , put your head over the bowl and cover your head with a towel and inhale deeply. It will be hot as hell, but will open your snoz and go to your head making you feel better, do this for as long you like.

I haven't really tried herbal remedies, per say, but cold eeze works wonders! If you take a lot of them the first day you have a cold, it doesn't last half as long. The only negative aspect is that it doesn't taste the best...

Yeah I use Ginger. Boil it with water and add some black sesame, olive oil and honey instead of sugar and drink it will it's still warm. It's good for relieving the cough symptoms and the throat pain.

Also you should take your medicines and vitamin C.

Olive oil lubricate the throat so the pain in it will be relieved, and I have tried it.

And I didn't mean the normal sesame but the black sesame. I don't really know too much but it has been mentioned in many books and it's used to cure many diseases; because it contains Carbohydrate, Phosphate, Phosphor and some anti-bacterial substances! There're many recipes used to make medicines from the black sesame, you can search about it on the internet. :)
