+1 yTypically, it's just how their bodies are naturally, like having a high metabolism
But I also think thin girls tend to have subconscious habits they may not realize that contribute to being healthier. They might have a slight preference for healthier sides when they eat, like raw/fresh/lightly seasoned veggies or fruits as opposed to loaded mashed potatoes with cheese, bacon and chives.
They probably more likely to incorporate little bits of cardio into their day, unknowingly. When they're on the phone, they might walk around or they might have to take the stairway to get to their apartment/job/school.
Of course, there are the ones with a fast metabolism who are unhealthy and out of shape and are lucky enough to eat whatever the hell they want. My friend Alee is like that and she hates it. It wasn't until recently that she began gaining some weight, but she didn't like that she could never donate blood because she's 5'6 and was around 100lbs or that she is like a toothpick.
If you're having cravings, give into them in moderation as opposed to taking one opportunity to over indulge(binge). Eat them regularly, but try to make a majority of your diet healthier.12 Reply- +1 y
thanks for the extensive answer :)

no problem
Also, the whole small 5-6 small meals a day might help. Some people find 5-6 small meals a day keeps them full and their weight down as opposed to say, 3 bigger meals with snacks in between

When you're craving something sweet - drink some juice or have a piece of fruit. I've found that if I'm craving sweet and do something like that, suddenly the craving goes away.
As far as junky anything, like say fries for instance, eating a couple or maybe eating half a small order kills the craving. Similar with hamburgers. I get a small one off the value menu or maybe eat a turkey burger.
Depends on how good your self control is. I've spent years getting myself into eating like this. It all started off with gradually cutting the junk out and eating mostly good foods. Now THAT'S what my body craves as opposed to junk. But when I do crave junk, I've found that these worked. Didn't even realize it until I started paying attention. Wanted something sweet? I took a sip of juice while having this craving and suddenly wasn't craving sugary anything anymore. Craving satiated!
People see it as being really hard, but if you get your body used to eating healthy, whole foods, eventually it does it for you.10 Reply
+1 yThe best way is to control what you got in the fridge. Never have sweets in the fridge. Always have plenty of vegetables and fruits around. Make sure to find a combo of healthy foods you enjoy. For example, I love brocolli and blue cheese, both pretty healthy so I will stock a ton of that in my fridge and just snack on it when I have cravings. I was 92 kgs and dropped to 84 in 50 days while maintaing an above average muscle mass (so mostly fat burn) by using this method. I went on a diet called the Atkins/Anabolic diet. Check your nutriosionits at the gym for some advice on a diet that might suit you ;)

Whenever I need to cut back on my sweets I turn it into a psychological thing. I'll say out loud to myself that fatty foods and sweets are the devil and will only do my body harm. Saying it out loud really helps a lot. Then just reinforce it over and over again.
It also helps not to put yourself in situations where you'll be tempted by them. When you're going to the supermarket to buy food, stay on the outer walls to do your shopping. That's where all the fresh produce, grains, dairy and meats are anyways. Going down the isles will only lead to trouble.00 Reply

+1 yIts definitely not genetics (or at least not for me). lol I try to limit portion size and not buy the sugary sweet or salty stuff to begin with. Like find alternatives, they make healthy chips and less fattening desserts and candy. Put a big emphasis on fresh food and fruit. You won't have a problem, little changes make BIG differences. Good luck!

+1 yTry drinking lemon water, it helps with speeds up your metabolism. Also, drinking two glasses of water before each meal is said to help with weight loss. Eating slowly helps with weight loss as well..
I've always ate slowly, but I got that from my great grandmother, lol.10 Reply
+1 yWhenever you are tempted, just look around, and you will see a lot of women who are way overweight unless you are home by yourself. If at home by yourself, put a picture of a big woman next to wherever you keep the candy--just to remind yourself what could happen.

thats actually really good advice.
You probably don't eat meals frequently enough throughout the day. Research shows that when you don't eat frequently throughout the day, your blood glucose gets unstable and you will crave carbs and salty foods. A recipe for disaster for those looking to keep their figure stable.
Try to eat 4-6, small meals every 2-3 hours.20 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI had that problem too... What really helped me was smaller meals with various snacks throughout the day - but healthy snacks like a handful of those sweet roasted almonds, or popcorn if you're feeling the salty etc. It's all about making the mental change. PLUS the gym. The more you go to the gym, the more you can eat -- but also, the less cravings you get! It's great :)
10 Replyfrom your picture, both your face and your body look f***ing georgeous. don't even fret about it

aww thank you :)
Try indulging your cravings, but in moderation and with maximization of enjoyment. Example: if you want a candy bar then have a candy bar - but eat it at a time when you can focus on its taste, not when you're just going to gobble it down. Savor it and eat it slowly. Better still, break it into two or three pieces and eat it over the course of the day.
00 Replywell I don't care if you vote me down but it is the genes that plays a big part in this matter. Does your family struggle with weight too? You can always run off any candy bars you eat or try crome pills I heard it will control your sweet tooth, I never tried it so I can't tell you if it will work or not

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yDon't beat yourself up about it, your natural shape is beautiful because that's how you were meant to look.
I am very thin, but not by effort - I'm lucky and simply don't put on weight no matter what I eat! That's how a lot of thin people do it.. So don't get disheartened if you want a sweet snack - many think people do that too!
Easier said than done but try to be happy the way you are :)11 Reply- +1 y

But I like what the other person said about controlling what foods you have in your fridge/house.30 Reply

+1 yThere really is no secret, my metabolism is just extremely fast. I don't gain weight anywhere except for my ass. I was having health issues and had to get a breast ultrasound. The doctor was making jokes about how I don't have any fat in my breasts just muscle. She was explaining what was on the ultrasound and she was like "I'd show you what fat in your breast looks like but there's none to show!" But yeah, my metabolism is just very fast on top of building muscle and staying active.

@ update, what the f***? rude much? No need to get bitchy because you didn't get a lucky hand at genes :P
- +1 y
i wasn't trying to be bitchy at all. I just don't want 10 people saying "its genetics" I want actual tips and advice. But now I am gonna get b*tchy you rude ass person.
F*ck off my page. - +1 y
I'm rude for defending my answer and answers like mine against what comes off as bitter rudeness? Don't lash out at me because YOU are unhappy with your fat. Did I put that fat on your body? No, so redirect your frustration where it belongs.
Maybe you just need to get more acquainted with the gym. Stay away from fast food and sugars. No more McDonalds; just live off of celery and water. How's that fo actual tips and advice? :) - +1 y
And I will leave your page only because apparently, you are not worth a serious, helpful answer :) Toodles, good luck with your fat!
- +1 y
first of all I wasn't even attacking your answer. I up voted your answer because I thought it was funny and good insight, I'm saying that to incoming people who leave responses, second of all did I ever say I was unhappy in this? no. don't make assumptions when you don't even know me. I stay fit. I a butt and boobs with being skinny. And you lashed out at me FIRST when its MY question not yours. I DONT eat fat foods but I do have strong craving like normal person. And celery and water? F*uck you.
- +1 y
*lol, sorry, the celeryand water was me mocking the situation* I didn't lash out, I just had to let you know that you sound like an ass telling people to shut up because you don't want to hear their answers. Do you really think that's going to make people want to come here and give you help? Let alone "skinny secrets"? ...Seriously?
- +1 y
okay...looking up and seeing the short non-informative "I'm just blessed with good genes" answers is a little annoying and I'm not even the QA. But it was still rude, you could have just addressed hem personally
- +1 y
"skinny secrets" its called humor and making light of the situation, laugh. And telling me that "it genetics" more than once does not help me AT ALL. Can I change my genes? NO. That's not advice. That's called stating the obvious. And do I really care if people think I sound like an ass because I don't want people to waste their time and mine by telling me something that I can't change and already no? Wasnt my intention, but sucks if they get offended. And "mocking the situation?" ... Seriously?
- +1 y
Alrighty, well since you care; I was sensing some assness from you.
Lol, *shrugs* it's the super bitch in me. Not my proudest trait : / People usually hate it when they're being serious with a legit worry/question and you mock them so yeahhh, you said you wanted to be a bish, so I brought my bish out too. Mature, right? :P lol - +1 y
why would you mock someone who is serious, and possibly could develop a serious eating disorder by that statement you made, "live off celery and water"?. I'm a b*tch, but I know when to draw the line. And that was definitely over the line. End of discussion.
- +1 y
oh, come on. I know you didn't take me seriously when I said "Go live off of celery and water." ...I mean frealz? You need water to survive seeing as about 75% of the body is water, including the fluid in our organs. So, you seriously though I wanted you to go live off of celery?...not even some string cheese, hell some low fat turkey/salami/fake hamburger meat? Lol, any girl who thought that was genuine advice; SNAP OUT OF IT! Your body needs more than celery and water! I couldn't even
- +1 y
make it 12 hours living off celery and water! I'd never sincerely advise that to someone! I was just being an ass because I thought you were being an ass. Sorry. At least I'm honest :)?
Meh, I'd say it was RIGHT on the line. Just centimeters away from being over but it was ON the line! - +1 y
Theres a difference between being an ass and honest. You were being an ass, I was honest. Wanna know the difference? Not once did I diss you personally, but you certainly dissed me. And someone COULD take that sincerely. when people are bitchy, just like being drunk, their inner thoughts come out. Thoughts that are not acceptable by societies standards. *cough cough*. And right on the line? Open your eyes. Your words can hurt, and SCAR people more than they realize. How many people have you hurt
- +1 y
I was being both. At least I didn't cower under an anon answer to speak my mind.
Nah, don't take it personally. It's not some deep inner thought I have about you, seeing as I've known you for all of 2 hours on and off lol It's just that I sincerely have an inner super bitch and it comes out if I feel someone is asking for it. The difference between me and most people is that I'm open and honest about my uglier personality trait.
- +1 y
The intent really wasn't to scar you lol, I promise.
I've hurt my fair share of people : / Like I said, it's not my most proud personality trait, but hey; it's who I am and that inner fire can really come in handy sometimes when it comes to protecting people I care for or defening myself. Yeah, it' a "fire" that can cause damage, but it's apart of me that I've accepted. Everyone could us a bit of tweeking. - +1 y
and now you friend me. I'm just confused.
- +1 y
lol, I friended you because I wanted to talk about this at meebo or send you a message, but apparently you have to be friends with you in order to talk to you outside of Q's and A'S
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWell, it helped me once to eat smaller portions five times a day (like every 3-4 hours). But now I'm totally flaking on it, tbh :)
