How gross. I had the same issue years back with a guy and I just told him, look your breath smells, go brush your teeth. he brushed it twice and it still smelled. that was a deal breaker for me. something must of been wrong with his insides and you really can't kiss a person like that so I would tell him the truth in a nice way and have him d something about it because its making it hard for you to kiss him
You could eat a breath mint, and then offer him one, so it isn't quite so obvious.
Or, you could pay attention to what he eats, and if there is something that would obviously make his breath smell bad, you could tell him that you don't like that food.
um tell him gentle-y that his breathe is rotten and he's need to have some better hygenie! that sounds like a bad situation and there's really no way to say it without it being awkward.

bad breath comes from the back of the toung he's gotta brush all the way back untill he pretty much gags... bad breath isn't cool... at all...

Tell him to scrape his tongue.
Some people forget that it's not all about the teeth that makes your mouth fresh and healthy.
("You're breathe stinks.") - In private, of course. Give it to him straight.
Make up his bed for him one day and leave a travel size bottle of mouth wash on his pillow... Just like how maids leave miniature chocolates on guest pillows lol
if his breath smells bad to you I don't think you have good sexual chemistry...not good in the long run
