Yes and no
The problem with Proactive is that the key ingredient is Benzoyl Peroxide, a chemical which can be found in many drugstore face washes and spot treatments.
One problem I encountered with Proactiv is that the face wash is wayyyy too harsh; aside from having Benzoyl Peroxide in it, it also contains microbeads that exfoliate. Exfoliation is good, but you shouldn't exfoliate every single day; exfoliating every day only irritates acne
Another problem with the face wash is that it doesn't cleanse well or properly. It leaves behind residue and a greasy film. It becomes a bit more evident when you use the toner and you see the dirt.
The toner is fine when used with the face wash, but when I stopped using the cleanser and used the toner with my own face wash, I began breaking out. It really is gentle though.
The treatment is like any other Benzoyl Peroxide treatment. And the treatment at that may be over doing it because of the face wash; both contain Benzoyl Peroxide
I will say the mask works fantastic and is something that really helps with spots if you're breaking out.
Is it worth it? No, not in my opinion. You're better off going to Wal-Mart and buying a face wash containing Benzoyl Peroxide, a cheap toner and weekly scrub and moisturizer

It works for some people, but not everyone. I have heard complaints about the chemicals in it. The face wash, if you get it on your clothes can bleach your clothing.
To be honest, you can find something cheaper that works even better.
You can go to www.ulta.com and at least browse the products there to get an idea of what works and what dosn't. Always check out review sites like that to get a more general idea.
Cetaphil is a great facewash. It is gentle and is actually an Allure Magazine beauty favorite.
I had crazy amount and it went away, all you need to do is eliminate completely products made of flour, it doesn't matter if its white, or wheat or whatever, flour is just bad.
That means, no bread, no cake, no tortillas, no pasta, no cereal, no cookies, you get the idea.
Also no refined sugar at all, specially no high fructose corn syrup. That means no more juices, candy or sodas.
Drink pure water, lots of it.
Not only the acne went away, I now look like a model, no joke.
I have acne... and just believe me there's no way you'll get a effect on them.. the best effect I got was by not using any soap on face.. you can use any herbal facewash. and every time you sleep put a washed towel over your pillow. Trust me... its very effective!

Kind of random, but something to consider if you DO decide to give it a try-
They basically are hell to get away from. You get sucked into a "subscription" type of situation where you get it for much less if you subscribe monthly. In turn, they bill your credit card.
People who have wanted to end their subscription couldn't. Proactive was a real bitch about actually stopping the product and billing.
In theory, the steps involved can be accomplished by buying the same products that they use. The steps involved are cleanser, scrub, and facial lotion. I checked out what they used, the ingredients in what they used, and went out to find similar products. Made up my own version and it worked just fine that way.i don't think it works .but if your acne isn't THAT BAD , then use asprin ! put water in it then crush them until they turn into a creamy paste. it really works .i always use it (; but make sure you're not alergic to it .you can sleep with it too and in the morning you'll see a difference .good luck (:
Pro active never worked for except for the face mask. I got products from a dermatologist which are OK but Aloe Vera has done wonders for me cause it's like natures nutrients Ina gel lol
Drink plenty of water that's the best remedy for acne!My whole family had acne issues..They tried every medication, facewash etc etc but nothing helped except water..once a week add a lemon in your water and drink!Best solution do give it a try!
It works for some but not all
When my sister was 17 she tried it and it never worked but a few years past and she tried it again and it worked wonders. She still uses it today and she's 29 now.I used it and it wasn't bad. It wasn't as magical as in the commercials but it has cleared up my skin a little bit. I actually use the bodywash as a facewash and I like it better than the 3 piece kit.
No, it's too harsh. Try ordering this product, every ingredient used is natural. :)
linkI think the commercials are exaggerating at times, but yes it certainly does work. Just takes time!
