Any reasons?
I get tons of head to head hits and contact, but no concussions?
Any reasons?
No, you don't have a "thick skull" or anything like that. If you're leading with your head, that's both against the rules, and you've been lucky. There's still a possibility for damage even without getting concussed. Those are effects you see later down the line, not immediately. However, unless you make a career out of it, you most likely won't really experience major effects from what you're doing. I played football from the time I was old enough to be allowed to by the local youth league all the way through high school. I played linebacker, so those running backs that were trying to truck, well, I was doing the same right back to them (and lead blockers), except I had a 3 yard head start over what you have, so I took quite a few bumps to the head. I often had bruises on my forehead from the helmet collisions.
I don't purposely lead with my head, it just happens, I don't get head starts, I just shave off my blocker and BAM! I get hit in the head.
And don't worry, I'm not going college or pro.
You might not be noticing the effects now, but it's not exactly good for you...
Usually when people do this type of thing, it tends to show up over the years, they just become a little slower and stuff like that.
Also, it could wear down your neck and your spine.
Some people are made to do rough physical stuff and extreme sport and they don't mind the consequences, but I'm personally just not a fat of abusing your body.
Just do what makes you happy, though.
Concussions are caused by the brain moving inside the skull and smashing into the skull causing a sudden stop...
Your brain must not be making contact.
