Anyone else tried a calorie cycling diet for weight loss?

It's the practice of going back and forth between periods of eating higher calories and then having periods of eating fewer calories. I've been on a diet for a few weeks during the week but in the weekend I go home and then I always eat normal so I eat like 4-5 days fewer calories and then in the weekend I eat higher calories. And I've had some great results! I didn't even know this cycling diet existed but it definitely works : ) Has anyone else tried it? Did you have good results? And how is your zig-zag structure?
