Im going through the same thing and let me tell you its not easy. My height and weight are the same as yours also and I also used to be thin a few years ago. My depression has taken over and gotton the better of me. I stopped caring and just started eating. Now since I'm big my depression has gotton worse. I have joined weight watchers to try to keep me motavated while dieting. Do you take anything for you depression? Part of what keeps me going is that knowing it will get better if I'm thin and ill be happy that way.

you should get your thyroid checked just in case because that will hold you back from losing weight no matter how healthy you are eating or exercise.
You should have goals. How bout tonight you're going to list all the dietary food that you should it tomorrow or two? And, you should stick to it. That will help you. If you put it in writing, the greater the probability that you'll stick to it, thus you'll lose weight and get your desired body shape.
Don't focus on the depression aspect of it. Set up some weekly and monthly goals, you can still eat what you like but it has to be healthier options, more lean meat and fruits/veggies. Lots of help online too for how to manage all this while on a tight schedule!

Are you on medication? Weight gain is a potential side effect of the class of antidepressants known as SSRIs (ex: Prozac, Paxil, Effexor). Switching to a SNRI antidepressant like Wellbutrin might help if you're currently on an SSRI.
