Another eye contact question... between acquaintances?

Saw a couple of questions posted recently about eye contact, and got to thinking. If a guy I don't know makes eye contact with me, I consider it a pretty good indication that he's interested in me (and assume he does the same for me). What about with girls you do know, though? If you like a girl in one of your classes, at work, or that you're friends with, do you make a lot more eye contact with her when you're talking with her than you do with other people? If so, why?

Eye contact is such a tricky subject and indicator of interest. I give everyone eye contact, especially to those I am comfortable around. If you all of a sudden notice someone you don't know giving you intense or prolonged eye contact then there is a reason for it. They eithet like you or hate you. Eye contact while talking conveys interest in the subject being discussed. If one is smiling look for other clues like playing with hair, leaning forward, etc, these convey interest in the person. Like I said a very tricky indicator indeed.
