All about making contact first? Any opinions please!!!?

Lets say that a girl/woman thinks that if she makes first contact (e.g. texting first) with a guy, she will think she's being annoying or else she believes that he should always initiate contact.

Now lets say the guy feels the exact same way and so he decides to wait it out for a change and wait for contact from her, as he doesn't want to seem like he's always annoying her.

So if he's waiting for her and she's waiting for him, she ends up thinking he has lost interest and he ends up thinking she was never really interested in the first place if she can't be bothered to make contact first once in a while. It's like a catch 22 situation?

Can anyone makes sense of this? Seems to me that it should be a 2 way street in this day and age and that the girl can't always expect the guy to make contact first...both parties need to feel like they are thought of and not the only one who has to put in the ground work?

Anyone been in this situation? How did you end up?

In my opinion it's as stupid as flirting . One of them should stop worrying about how they might come out and just text the other . because true to be told if you are waiting for a text you are desperate you might as well let the person know how bad you want them. I do that I always text first and I don't care if I come out as being desperate because true to be told I am

I hate how women always make the argument "guys are hunters, blah blah blah"
