+1 yThe best bang for your buck is to do compound movements and hit multiple muscles at once. Don't target or isolate.
3 reasons
1. compound exercises both burn more calories and target multiple muscles.
2. It creates functional movement (your actually gaining fitness and mobility)
3. It's easier to stimulate muscles growth when multiple muscles are stimulated in one area. this is because your are creating patterns of movement that not only fatigue muscle but work a chain in your nervous system.
Examples of compound movements are Squats - deadlifts - Pull ups or inverted rows if you haven't worked up to it. Burpees, push ups and dips.02 Reply
Asker+1 ySo full body in a day?
- +1 y
Try to do pull, push and legs. Do cardio everyday if you can.

+1 yIt's all about muscle confusion and getting those rest days in. And you intensify some of you work outs that is another way to burn fat and also build muscle. Try working out all your muscles though, and doing cardio maybe 2-3 times a week. Your muscle truly only grow on those rest days but also it's not all about losing weight you can stay the same weight and lose body fat just increase the muscle which actually looks really good. Muscle is denser and much more sculpted which is why you see those fit girls sometimes with amazing butts and crazy abs etc.

Asker+1 yI'm planning on doing cardo everyday to help me lose weight. I don't really want abs, but I do want a flatter stomach and better butt. So do you think a full body would be okay after cardio or should I do alternate days?
+1 yEathing healthy is a good start, but if you overeat, you may not see much progress. You can eat a whole crap ton of veggies without stockibg up on calories. Things like eggs and oatmael are very good for you in moderation, and switching from sugar to honey is a good start as well. Do you eat quickly? I notice if i slow my self down when eating, i can get quite full on a small scrambler, rather than a scrambler and toast amd oatmeal when I eat fast. Also, if you eat small things every 2-3 hours, you may notice a good weightloss, as small amounts of fuel keep your metobalism going throughout the whole day.

You shouldn't work out the same muscle groups on consecutive days. Your body/muscles need time to recover or else you're just causing more harm than good. Do compound lifts like squats, dead lifts, and overhead press to maximize use of your muscles, on non-consecutive days.
If you're going to do full body, do it every other day. Or if you want to work out everyday, split the muscle groups.02 Reply
Asker+1 yAlright, so maybe do 3 target exercise per day instead of doing them all?

I'd go with the second one, movements and exercises that incorporate multiple muscles burn more calories, leaves an after burn effect, is more aerobic and better for the body. Also allows for proper recovery (and a 30 min full body work out would have to be very extreme to accomplish anything). Some good ways to split up muscle groups is upper and lower body, posterior (all the muscles behind you), arms, core, chest and shoulders. When you can try to incorporate push and pull movements, of course it all starts with how you eat

Asker+1 ySecond one meaning you think it's good to work out different muscle on alternate days instead of just one day? I was thinking on doing 30-40 cardio and the rest is toning. Is it better to do the muscle groups every other day?
Asker+1 yThank you Omega

+1 yThe idea that a food is "clean" or "dirty" is mainly based on trends honestly. You can still eat a lot of chicken breast and get fat.
People choose certain foods when they are dieting due to their macro and micro nutrient profiles. Basically doing your best to reach those within a certain calorie range on a day by day basis is easily the healthiest way to stay in good shape.00 Reply eating A LOT doesn't help you lose weight no matter how healthy. you may consume less caloriesf you eat the same weight of healthy foods as you were eating unhealthy foods, but it still does not mean yore not eating too much.
you have to consume less than you burn in or to lose weight.00 ReplyYes, this will help tremendously, what you eat is how you're body will be , exercising helps add and tone up your muscle. There still is yummy food that is healthy, just eat well, right portions and the right foods during the day to keep you full and not craving for more or stuffed.

+1 yyou have to burn more calories than you eat. or at least a fair amount. thats why my old coaches made us condition so much :( haha but if you eat right and exercise along side, you should be fine. but just eating healthier will only be effective if they are reasonably sized intakes

+1 yEat chicken, broiled and baked. No breading. No skin. Ditto fish.
Green vegetables and salads. Olive oil and vinegar dressings.
Avoid cereals, rice oatmeal and breads. All (all) carbonated beverages except club soda and seltzer. No (no) sugar. No fast food. No brown beans, squash and potatoes. Are we having fun yet?00 ReplyNononooo you will not gain anything by doing full body workouts each day. Isolating muscle groups is best. And you want to do all parts of your leg in one day. Calves can be done more than once a week. And if your are wanting to make serious gains in your ass it needs to have its dedicated day as well.:)

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt's all about the calories, you can't just eat healthy and thats it. Maybe start at 1500 calories per day, and add a workout routine in there. But it totally depends on your height and starting weight, you don't want to have too few calories. But it's the whole package, and you've got to work out and be active
00 ReplyAs long as you're eating healthy and watching how many calories you consume compared to how much you burn throughout the day. What you don't want to do is eat less than normal because it slows down your metabolism telling your body to hold on to unwanted fat as a back up fuel source.
00 ReplyEliminate wheat and grains in general. That makes you gain weight and keep it. Stick to vegetables and chicken and you can't go wrong. You want to eliminate carbs as much as you can or eat only low glycemic carbs.

Simple carbs... white breads pastas..anything white flour based...syrups..sugary with no substance basically...cereal.. I am suggesting not overdoing it..start with working out 3 days a week. But you can do cardio everyday.

00 ReplyGet protein bars.
It doesn't matter if you're eating healthy, if you're eating too many calories vs how many you burn, you'll gain weight.00 ReplyIf you eat "a lot" of anything, it will not help you lose weight. Also, losing weight only works in combination with physical exercise.
00 Replyu can do it but it will burn you our really quick but u will gain muscle faster in my opinion...alternative lower and upper to start.

Asker+1 yOkay to full body then?
Asker+1 yI've been doing it for a while but I'd like to know which is more effective.
- +1 y
Okay for me it helped me build muscle and trim down much quicker but the key is knowing how heavy to go and doing the excercises properly. Also dont do many isloation...this is how my workouts used to be (fullbody) with barbell or dumbbells.squats and stifflegged deadlift superset..then bicep tricep ( kickbacks or dips) superset. Then shoulder press with bent over rows superset. Then lunges ( backward and forward stationary) and u can add any combo u like..i always like mixing it up and supersetting gets u results faster in my opinion.
Asker+1 yFull body workouts would be better?
450 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. To loss weight eating the proper things is 80% and exercise is 20%. So, if you don't have that in order, weight loss will be a problem to obtain.
