Why do Van-Life people always have to have giant beds?

Why do they almost always have to have a queen-sized bed like that? Especially single people. I'd go with a drop-down twin-sized Murphy bed at the most.

They could be saving so much space and use it for other things.

Alright... I guess these van life people really be doing a lot of fucking. Personally didn't think of that aspect because the whole appeal to me is getting away from people. I looked it up on Reddit though... they be doing van life just for the fucking.

LOL I am only messing.. but I personally think a double is more comfortable to sleep even when I am alone.. and I think it would look better than to have a smaller bed on the side.. Plus you have lots of storage underneath.

Those beds are Queen Size at the most, and the space under them is usually used as fixes storage to use the space as efficiently as possible. Murphy beds do not work too well in vans. The bed in the last picture is a two side benches with a drop-in section that is used as a table during the day.

Those beds are sized to be the width of the vehicle, which makes them easier to build and install. Nothing magical about them.

I sort of get the sex thing, it just wasn't on my mind when I think about camping by myself in a Walmart parking lot. Claustrophobic people though? why in the ever living fuck would they try to live in a van if they're claustrophobic? Feel me?

@d_bone_steak claustrophobia wouldn't be just black and white but all shades of grey as well. a tiny couch sized bed might make you feel only mildly uncomfortable enough to give you a restlessly nights sleep but a large queen might make them completely comfortable.

Maybe they are used to bigger beds? And in my life, I can't even remember the last time a female thought a twin sized bed was good enough. I do remember being laughed at for even suggesting it.

You know the smartest thing to actually have as a bed in one of those bum vans would be a hammock. You could roll it up and put it in a drawer for fucks sake. It would suck ass if you're a side sleeper, though
