I've noticed that some people here seem to be embarrassed to share their preferences regarding the type of movies, music, or video games they like, why is that?

I have no problem sharing those pieces of information. Where it comes crashing down is when the questioner starts going into more sexually charged questions about preferences, but if they want to know I like The Goonies, Cyndi Lauper and Final Fantasy Tactics, then more power to them lol
