Are You A Do It Yourself Person?

Yes I have been very blessed my mom was a single mom for awhile growing up raising 3 kids if something broke i would fix it if something happen to her car I would fix it
Every year before school would start if I wanted Levi's or nike high tops i would go and half with her. Because you also had to buy clothes for my brother and sister
I also wanted a dirt bike she said , fine , but I had to pay for it so I would always do odds and ends for people to make money , and I bought a dirt bike i started racing
And if you want to go fast , you have to have the best equipment , new tires all the time and I had to maintain it
After high school , I started working for a petroleum engineering company. And I would build gas stations from the ground up learn how to run equipment every hand tool
And then I bought cars , I would trick them out and sell them
So yes, I did very blessed in many ways, and I can fix anything. I can build a house from the ground up. I can build a car from the ground up. And I can fix anything if it's broken
One drawback is everybody knows that I can fix everything so they bring it to me but it's okay if I can save somebody or just help somebody , that's what it's all about
Yes. I do most things myself, from home repairs and maintenance, home improvement (especially networking and Wi-Fi, security cameras, and Audio/Video), car maintenance, and most other things that come along.
A lot of people are afraid to do things they've never done before, so they rarely do anything new, and soon they have to rely on others for everything. I've never been afraid to try or learn something new, but I do understand practical limitations. A common example is doing major car repairs - that's something that requires significant infrastructure - a garage with lots of space, a lift, and a lot of expensive tools, many being specialty tools that are rarely used if you aren't a mechanic by trade. That often makes major car repairs impractical. Even more so today with cars full of computer modules that require proprietary software to integrate.
But I do basic maintenance - fluid and filter changes, belts and hoses, brakes, and things that don't require a huge investment in tools.
Yes, I am.
I like handling things myself whenever I can , it gives me control, satisfaction, and a sense of accomplishment. That said, I’m also open to asking for help when it makes sense or saves time.
In the winter I'm a lay-on-the-couch-let-everyone-do-it-for-me girl 'cuz I like to hibernate 'til spring when I can actually go outside and do something for myself.

In a sense, yes. I am willing and capable of doing most things myself. However, i know my limits and i indulge my privilege. I won’t do something if the quality of the work is important and i don’t have the knowledge, experience and skill to meet that threshold. I can afford to pay someone to do quality work. So i do.
Similarly, some jobs that i can do quite effectively simply demand too much of me. I haven’t changed my own oil in over eight years. I certainly can, but i make a good living and i can afford to sit in climate controlled comfort and wait while someone else does that for me.
It took a long time for me to earn that privilege. I am not the least bit ashamed to indulge in it.
Too much, I constantly find myself wishing I'd known my place and learned more first.
That's a big issue I want to fix, I want to be able to just fix crap without paying others do it for me but I want things done right, and I need to make sure I have the knowledge first
Yes. If I can't get people who are more skilled to do something- professionals included - I'll find a way to do it myself. So many people with minimal skills try to pass themselves off as a "professional". "Professional" only means that they collect money to do something. Give me a skilled amateur vs an everyday pro every time.
I am a DIY guy but there are some projects i simply don’t want to do as i get older, like anything that involves climbing in the attic.
I'll assemble simple stuff but that's it. I leave it to the professionals. Some jobs are just too complicated to try and understand.
If it's something I know how to do on my own I do it myself but I'm not going to act like I know what I'm doing when I don't have even the slightest idea on how to fix it
I try to do everything myself, plumbing and electrical, auto mechanics , electronics and landscaping.
Depends on what “IT” is …
I will generally do a lot of light diy , but more than odd jobs are passed to a skilled person
Not really. I'm originally a master craftsman, and "do-it-yourself" does not meet my quality expectations.
That's why I do most things myself unless they are boring or fool-prof.
With many things yes, but not with everything. I know my limits.
Yes, that is usually the best way to get things done.
If I can DIY. I get SO TIRED of waiting VERY long periods of time for others to help me if I ask for it!!
every time I can, yes...
other times I do try first
I am because I don't have the money to be paying someone to do it for me. Also now days I can't rely on anyone.

Weekend Project
I try to fix it myself, then when it goes tits up I call a plumber.
Ya know what they say: "Ya want somethin' done right, do it yourself". :)
I have turned out to be the most reliable. Also I need someone I can trust.
Totally depends on what "it' is.
If you mean repairing stuff, I'm not.
Yes.. With most things I can say. 😊
