Do you consider yourself a good writer, or do you struggle to put your thoughts into words?

Sometimes we know exactly what we want to say in our heads… but putting it into words can be a different story.

I'm always in so much of a hurry that there's moments and times where if I slowed way down it would almost be like being right in front of a person you would feel every word just like with like a touch almost I love when I get into those moments

Because I think anytime that you write something is Meaningful and the person reading it should be able to feel each word as if it's really happening

But I'm sure you can tell even on here with my answers it's almost as if I don't have time to be answering it and it's all confusing sometimes I don't even understand what I said LOL but I use voice texting a lot I don't proofread or punctuate and that makes a big big difference if I'm trying to make a point or if I want somebody to feel something

But whether I'm writing something or just talking I want that person to feel my words so they understand where I'm coming from

I write 95 word per minute... and that test was years ago (2 decades)... I'm probably faster now. The speed of speeking is what I basically do. When I type it is stright from my mind as if I am speaking.

My young man plan was to become a court typewriter, but I ended up being a basic paper executive bitch. I should've just became a carpenter like my Great Grandfather. That's another story though. Point is that yes, I can type so fast and hard, you'll feel it deep inside and will lose yourself in my ryththm of my fingers flicking until you squirt in amazement.

I think I can be a good writer but I haven't put my work out there for many to see. I want to get my book published and on the shelves before I can truly say I'm a good writer.

I write every day. It might be just random thoughts, song lyrics or anything else really. Writing is usually the last thing I am doing before going to sleep each night.

My command of the English language is extraordinary. I always express my ideas, thoughts and feelings more accurately and thoroughly in writing than i do orally. The way i speak is so grammatically correct that i am often told that i “talk weird”. I am also accused online of being a bot or using AI. The bot accusation doesn’t even hold water. Bots are typically designed to blend in with the usually ignorant target audience. AI makes a little more sense, but the tiny degree to which i have tried it, i have noticed that even AI responses are often rife with grammatical errors.
I can do better. So i do.
I wish more people would do the same.

I actually used ChatGPT to see if it could tell me if I'm a decent writer. It gave me a backhanded compliment. There's a LOT more description that it gave, but to save you the read, this is the short version. It said...

If I had to compress it to a blunt estimate:

You probably write better than roughly 70–85% of people.

That sounds high, but the average writing level online is extremely low.

I'm a rather accomplisher writer. I have written over 200 articles about health- and in particular- massage therapy. Published a newsletter for the same, spanning about 20 years, back when paper was popular. I do periodic editing of some clients' on-line content about graphics, homeschooling and health. When I worked in a Fortune 100 company, I wrote 150-250 page "Requests for Proposals", complete with graphics.

My biggest problem is that- many times- I come up with some great follow-up info just after I've sent something out to the client. :- ). But then, don't we all suffer from that - - - -

I think so. When I set out to write something, I'll just start typing out my ideas and then edit. I may have a good intro in mind, but sometimes, I'll just put whatever comes to mind anyway -  regardless of how awful or cringey it might be  - and then figure it out later.

I would say I am a fair writer but a horrible typer which diminshes the quailty of my writing sometimes. I wish my fingers could make words as fast as my brain does and I would likely be a good writer with the potential for greatness.

I know that feeling.

Some people can express themselves easily, while others really struggle to put their thoughts into words.

Either way, the effort to write something meaningful already says a lot about you.

I think I'm a good writer

Much of my career involved writing and updating technical documents. I wouldn't have done that well in my career if my work wasn't good.

I've also written and posted a few short stories online, with people making positive comments

It's never going to be like that type writer picture though. Like there are people who can describe a single, simple thing so well that they might as well be writing a book. I admire that.

When I took the test to get into college I tested out in writing. ✍🏼 So I guess that means that I am a good writer. I feel like I am.

While I can struggle to put things into words, it's that very struggle that makes me a better writer, by marrying me very intentional in finding the right words. I may not be a great story teller, but I can write with conviction and feeling because I write with intent.

Well, I looked up good book openings just to compare myself to other writers and this one popped up:

Well I won two writer's conferences when I was in school. I don't think I'm a "writer" per se. But I don't think I suck at it either. There's a story I've had in my head for the past decade and a half I just haven't put to paper yet. It's kind of a sci-fi story.
