How was your weather yesterday and today with the arctic blast and storm?

We had snow, maybe 3 inches or more, and temperatures below zero. It was -7 degrees last time I looked and winds are 40 mph. Feels like -29 . This weather (arctic blast) is the worst I’ve seen since being here. There were accidents on the turnpike and non another highway which included fatalities. And, I may have to spend Christmas without my girls because it is just too cold and hazardous to drive. But better safe than sorry.

Here in Southeast US it is unseasonably and unreasonably cold. Temperature this morning was 6F (-4F wind chill). High temp today was 22F with 15F wind chill. For non-USers, that's -14C/-20C and -5C/-9C respectively. Interestingly, the average historical high for today is 52F (11C).

We live in a condominium and we have no water since one of the units has a water leak due to frozen pipes and water to the entire building had to be turned off. Hopefully, we'll get water back later tonight, as plumbers are working on the problem now.

That's what we expoerienced but with the winds (40mph) it flet like -29 degrees. I did not go out at all! Mosgt people just stayed home.

FYI... the plumber found and repaired the leak, after cutting several holes in the unit's ceiling, and we got the water back on late at night. It was off for about 5 hours. Late yesterday afternoon (Christmas day), it actually reached 33 degrees for about a half-hour. This morning, it's back down to 16 degrees. Our dog (with her thick coat) loves it during our walks... I'm freezing, no matter how many layers I put on.

At least you got the water back, and glad you are somewhat back to normal. This winter is incredible. I live in a condo too, and we were just hoping that the power would not go out. As it was, the power companies were telling everyone to cut back on electricity until 10:00 on Sunday morning. What was sad is that most people stayed home and I didn't get to see my daughters for Christmas. It was too dangerous to go out. There was a 50 car pile up on the Ohio Turnpike with 4 dead, and another accident on another highway with 2 dead. I todl my kids to stay home and we can meet when it gets warmer.
My golden retriever liked snow until he got really old.:)

We had dangerous below zero temperatures along with the windchill factor and there was snow and blowing snow it was dangerous to drive, I stepped outside one time and my hands turned red it was horrible, My one garbage can is laying near the neighbor's fence still can get it cause of the cold and wind. Right now, it's 22 degrees. I live in Pennsylvania, USA

Rain for 18 hours on Thursday into Friday. Then a precipitous drop in temperature on Friday into the single digits; thankfully it was sunny and the rain from the water had evaporated. Yesterday (Saturday) was 7 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit all day. Today was slightly "warmer" -- it was in the 20s. But at least we had sun.
