Do you have any suggestion for spending Christmas with your partner for the first time?
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yFor me, it would have to be serious. Alone time - maybe in the morning. One or two gifts. Maybe church. Then go to a family thing, if there's family around. Maybe TRY to get everyone together, but knowing my family, that may not be possible, so it would probably either have to be both sides in a day, or maybe celebrate each side of the family around Christmas, but not on the day itself. This depends on weather, how far away they are, whether I'm working (or she's working) the next day.
If I was staying in the area for more than a day, I'd probably want a decent hotel room. I don't know if I'd want to put up with relatives for long, whether I know the dynamic or not. I'm currently living with relatives, and it can get to be too much a lot of the time, so I think I'm about done with the 24/7 thing.00 Reply

u +1 yLet's see, we drove to visit the farm where she grew up and where I met her family for the first time. We stayed there for a couple of days. Then, on Christmas Eve, we drove to Chicago to meet with my family and promptly got my car totaled. So yeah, that was awesome.

+1 yI loved it because I was able to focus only on them, it sounds selfish, but the both of us cams from big families. So, it was definitely nice to be able to only focus on each other.

Oops I accidentally posted, what we did was drop off Christmas presents. Then we left and went to see a light show in downtown. We drove around and looked at all of the Christmas decorations. (Houses) Then we went and got hot chocolates and talked for awhile while we walked through the park.. After that we made dinner together, ate, and curled up watching a few Christmas movies.
+1 yIf things were serious, it would be take to the family for the usual Christmas get together... ofc he may have family things too, so we'd have to work it out.

u +1 yIn the month of December, I have a huge holiday party which I host (about 175 people in attendance.) I have choir performances at my church (I sing tenor.) I organized a Christmas luncheon at my work. I attend a Christmas jazz concert, and a performance of the Nutcracker. I go out of town the week between Christmas and New Year. And I share all of that with her.

@Massageman Fairly busy for an "old" dude!
I always speak less (control tongue), smile more, and be obviously more attentive to them than Normal. That’s me though…get them talking about themselves or politics then you are good 😎

+1 yIf it was a first Christmas together, I would spend it very low-key with her. If she had a family around, a visit would certainly be in order, and vice versa. But still in quiet moderation - still getting to know each other.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI would spend time with their family and then take a trip with them to Europe. I didn’t grow up celebrating Christmas so I wouldn’t mind spending it with his family.
