American GAGers: Are you traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday?

This is one of the busiest travel days of the year. The Charlotte Douglas International Airport is overcrowded and becoming inaccessible to traffic just about.

I would imagine that a lot of people would travel a week or two ahead of Thanksgiving and than stay in their travel spot past 3 weeks, to avoid the flight difficulties that come with rush hour traffic. My uncle wanted to fly to China for a medical appointment and spent over 40 hours changing and waiting between flights, cause he though going the long route was cheaper than a direct 12-14 hour flight there. Many ways to deal with the Thanksgiving flight madness.

No travel necessary for me. My family has lived in the same area since 1790 and most of us have never moved, so I have hundreds of relatives within a 30 minute drive. I have third cousins I see on a regular basis.

We are hosting! I can't imagine traveling via airplane at this time. We have certainly driven to relatives in the past :-)

Yes, about 15 houses further down the street to our friends house. Hope the traffic isn't too bad.
