Does anyone open at least one present on Christmas Eve?

If you can visualize 17 stockings hanging on mom dads fireplace with various small items put in them by all of us adults, that is what we tear into on Christmas eve. I still remember the very first Christmas I was married and my husband got to see our family with his eyes open like a silver dollar watching everything including the continue food, drink, games and fun that goes on from X mas eve throughout Christmas day and big dinner. Everybody stays the night

Ever since I was a little girl each Christmas Eve I was allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve, and it was always a new pajama set or nightgown. When I had children, I continued the tradition, and even though they are now adults we continue with the tradition. I hope that when my children give me grandchildren they will continue the tradition.

When I was a kid, there were a couple Christmases where I got up in the middle of the night and decided to go see what Santa left and thought I should open just one gift for me. Problem with that was, now that I know what's there, I don't want to go back to sleep because I'm so excited about playing with my new toy.

I sent presents to a single mom on this site. I was kind of pissed off that her and her kids opened them the next day. (way before Christmas.)

My family did that on and off. Was never a consistent tradition. My mom asked most times what we wanted to do and most times she also told us to simply wait until Christmas because that’s when it was official. It would then either be Christmas morning or Christmas night.

I do. Growing up we always opened at least one gift on Christmas Eve since we usually had a party on Christmas Eve.
