I'm sorry that she dumped you or treated like crap and I'm sorry that your mom didn't give you the right amount of attention. But the rest of the world isn't so bitter or depressed.
A lot of these can apply to both genders. I don't really see the need to get married
Both genders? How often do men get alimony when the woman is the breadwinnner? Far less often than women. 80% of women get custody. Tell me something else that has an 80% rate of success... that pretty much makes it a rule or law. Meaning by de-facto law, women by virtue of a uterus get custody and child support with it. It is the lottery for women to marry.
All these women who aren't taking you seriously in the comment section will never understand. They never realise that they actually benefit from marriage and divorce. You'll never know if the person you're marrying will eventually turn into something that is bad. That's why people in general should be careful about marriage.
That's interesting you say that because my coworker's sister is going through a divorce and she's on suicide watch. The dude won't leave the house, even though he filed for the divorce and the house is in her name but she can't kick him out, even though she owned the hosue before they met. He's making more money than her but as it stands, she's expected to pay alimony. On top of that, he abuses her verbally and physically. She tried filing for a protection order but the law said she can't because they live together and he's not allowed to leave the house. She has two kids with this man and as of now, when their divorce is finalized, he gets full custody. Oh and she loses the house. And her cars. I've met this woman and have seen her with bruises a few times, but never said anything to my coworker about it. She just now opened up about why she's been missing work. Its to protect her sister.
Tell me again how women benefit from marriage and divorce. I'm waiting.
I marry to love, not for benefits. The take owner thinks we marry to take and abuse, but fails to realize that some of us marry because we sincerely love the person.

@RainbowFanGirl Not all women are like that. Marraige isn't for everyone. That is true. But I hope to get married someday to someone. I am a very caring person. I can honestly say I never hated someone in my life and I like to always put myself in other people's shoes.

Young naive people expect idealism. I seen enough betrayal and favoritism to realize that this is not true.
After, I seen how the corporate world treats the hard working and gracious to slobs. This isn't just about relationships. Selfish favoritism spans into the work environment.

I was listening to Doctor radio Sirius XM. A British woman complained that in 20 years in Canada she couldn't find one friend that wanted another friend. Everyone had there high school friends and didn't want anymore. I was in REI. They didn't have my size jacket so I was taking a pic of it to order online. A girl noticed me and turned away when she noticed I was taking a pic. It was obvious that I peeked her interest in an expensive store. But was turned off the moment she saw the cell phone camera. I was in Walgreens dressed nice by chance. Cashier tried to start a conversation. I don't mind women who are practical and need financial stability in a man. But I think that people are too fast paced busy to make quality friendships and would rather add rich people to their group.

@Takyon ok so there you go, there's the answer to the reason you don't agree with marriage you were hurt by the woman who was support to make you a man and tech you about the world and what goes on it in and when you get emotionally, or physically hurt by that person you don't look at them or think of them as the way a child should, because you no longer have any imagine in your head of her except the abuse/hurt you went through.
I have 20 years and i have never seen a good marriage or even a good relationship in my life.
