Why do people often marry people that could pass off as their siblings?

When we look at a lot of married couples, they tend to look very similar like they could be brother and sisters. This gets even creepier when the father of the spouse you are marrying becomes your "FATHER" in law and you their "SON/DAUGHTER" in law. Anyone find the whole thing sort of incest and creepy when we look at choices people make and general terms used in marriage.

No. It’s common for all types of people to marry someone who is similar to those they admire. For example psychology says that women tend to marry men who reminds them of their father or a sibling, it doesn’t have to be the way they look necessarily could just be similar personality traits, they look for comfort. Same goes with men, men tend to look for women who remind them of their mother or a sister. Again, doesn’t always necessarily mean looks. And with time, couples who don’t look necessarily alike start to look alike because of the years the time they’ve spent together for example one person in the relation could have the habit of making a face so the other person starts making that same face unconsciously. Things like that starts to become a habit in the relationship therefore people start to look alike. Its confusing but it’s the way it is.
Im sure one day you’ll experience it : ) we all do.

welp i'm glad i don't have that problem. my partner looks absolutely nothing like me. and a completely different ethnicity lol
