Trending & News I got married at age 32. My wife was 36. Within 2 years, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, stopped working, and started receiving a small Social Security disabilty income. I remained married to her for another 15 years and we ultimately divorced for reasons that were not directly related to her disability.
My Mom lost a leg; Father lost her interest in her.
That somewhat shaped myself of course, and I still feel disgusted about him (even though he later improved a little - but too late to save their marriage).
I guess, I can do better.
If ''our'' limitations become -say- 'difficult', there are other fields where I can possibly compensate; this could be running for President, become a motivational speaker, or just contribute more here on GaG :)
If he was disabled before or after we got married?
Either way, I wouldn’t leave him, period. That is my husband and I value staying true to wedding vows… “in sickness and in health.” I would help him.
A wise real lady 😌👍🏻
"In sickness and in health"
I'm staying with them, because I'll still love them.
My thoughts exactly.

We both made our marriage vows which included the words "In Sickness And In Health"
Hell would need to freeze over before I even started contemplating either leaving or divorcing my husband.
I would 1000% help and stand by his side. Love knows no boundaries. I would stay with him forever, no matter the circumstance.
I wouldn't leave because of a disability. I wouldn't stay only because he's disabled either. Basically, my feelings wouldn't be any different than they are now.
I would help. I'm religious and really don't belive in divorce plus I take the vows for better or for worse super seriously. Plus I have an amazing partner who I know would not abandoned me so I could not even consider doing that to her

No chance in hell I'm leaving her over a physical disability, especially if we are married. It wouldn't even make her undateable.
if they were when we married, surely i'd therefore know and that would mean I'd be staying?
I'm a decent human being... if that's what you're asking
I would stay with them unless they were abusing me and yelling at me everyday.
The deal was In Sickness and in Health. I would stay and take care of her.
Help for sure, i won't marry a girl to divorce her, of she becomes disabled than i'll take care of her and be sure that she never feels disabled!
That’s the exact reason why you don’t get married for beauty. If you marry someone because of their physical attractiveness. You’ll divorce the moment that’s gone!
I take wedding vows seriously, I’d stay with my partner, whether in sickness or in health.
We both feel like it now - we have to help each other.
I don't know. Honestly theirs one part of me that says divorced and another side says don't do it
Follow our vows. You’d have to be heartless to simply ditch them.
Would do absolutely nothing, I'd love her just the same.
Without a question, I'd help. I made a vow.
Definitely help. For better or worse
I’d stay because I’d still love her.
Have to stay and help her.
Take care of her of course. What else?
I’d help. I mean in health and sickness.
Help.
