Did you ever have to plan a wedding outside the USA to another country?

My daughter is getting married and we're helping them plan the wedding, but its harder because its going to be held outside the USA.

Anyone ever plan a wedding outside the USA?

They want their wedding to be held in Luxembourg a small country near Germany

And yes bride and groom both live in Wisconsin. This is no long distance relationship thing

I'm glad I don't socialize with a lot of people cause my friend has tonnes of friends and she has to attend weddings at places a normal person would not want. Like she is travelling to Mexico in the middle of summer for a friend's wedding. I also know people who had tonnes of friends that had to get part time jobs every December while a full time student cause she had dozens of people she needed to buy gifts for each year and if she did not buy she might offend them. My dad wanted me to reject my best friend when I was 16 because I spent $50 on her gift and she spent less than $5 on mine. But it wasn't a Santa event and we never agreed to buy each other gifts. I just spontaneously decided to get her something cause I wanted to.

Yes. My husband and I married in a country neither of us had ever been to. We ended up changing things around after we arrived.

Nope, I think these destination weddings are a giant pain in the butt for everyone involved. I would never put my friends and family through the expense and the inconvenience.

He's great on working on old cars with me. He knows carburetors better than me.

For a young guy that knows his way around a carburetor. That shocked me for one thing. He is only 25 years old

he sounds like a good kid. How could they have such poor judgement? I have a vacation home on an Island and in September I have to go to a wedding there. It will be great for me because I just have to walk down the street but the families will have to drive hundreds of miles and deal with a ferry.

Yes. Im not from the USA so my wedding will be outside the USA lol. 2 countries in mind. Both where i reside.

I heard it’s not that hard, probably a travel agent could help with that but it’s the fact that it’s out of the country makes it very expensive for people to show up and get the time off for that, bad enough when it’s out of state

Eloping would definitely be better for them and cheaper, plus they could use the extra money towards the home

Now I own a cheap dump in the country, but at least its mine and not renting.

I was help my middle daughter try to find a place to rent. These people are nuts for what they are charging for just a one bedroom place

I glad I got locked in % rate with the land contract

The crazy home prices is the only thing stopping me from getting one and I have owned houses in the past making less than half of what I make now and I still can’t get one

Yes, we did just that. We had to wait an extra 6 months for the wedding to take place, but it was totally worth it.
