My mate and I agreed on a private wedding excluding his family and mines during to how toxic they are.. has anyone did a private wedding - what was the outcome when the families found out?

I say who gives a f what the family says if they find out. Your wedding and your decision who you want there. If I ever got married, my family would not be invited except my daughter. I already know they would shit talk about me and my wedding anyway

My girl and I plan to have a private wedding. Not because we consider our families toxic, it's just what we want to do. It's your day, and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

We are planning on having a private wedding abroad. Just us and our kids will be there just how we want it. I don’t speak to any of my family and my boyfriend isn’t close to his family. We will throw a party when we get back and invite my boyfriend’s family

My husband of 23/30 years did just this. His Father and Brother are toxic and we did not want that to be apart of our day. We have no regrets.
