What do you think of the idea a guy said that money cannot buy character?

I know a lot of rich men. None of them were able to buy virtuous wives. The only ones who were able to buy virtuous wives were the ones who were virtuous themselves. Not even Tiger Woods can buy a virtuous wife and he’s a billionaire.

Typically I find that money only compounds the problem. A true judge of character (in dating that is) is how they react when money is not involved. I have had so many women that just want to take a man for his money in the past that it is unreal. I tend to take a first date and do something classy that doesn't take a lot of money, if that date goes well then the second date will be more extravagant. That weeds out the gold diggers, even if they know that you have money before any of the dates.

I think it means that it can't buy character for yourself. Technically you can pay OTHER ethical people but not yourself.
