I cannot understand the thinking. How you could want to be someone’s third, fourth, fifth, etc., spouse. The success rate at that point goes way down, and it kind of makes a joke out of marriage. there’s clearly something wrong with a person that has a succession of failed marriages..

If the number of “failed” marriages is under 3, that’s nbd. My mother divorced out of her first marriage and widowed out of her second. She has yet to be married a third time, not even sure she wants to be. But she has her own rule: 3 divorces before meeting her, and she drops you. Mistakes happen, people change, getting 1 divorce is completely understandable. Maybe you end up making the same mistake the second time around, that’s okay too. You’re human, it happens. Usually by the 3rd marriage is when you start to be able to solidify who you are and what you want in a partner and in each case you take your sweet time between marriages, several years if not decades between them. But if you divorce your 3rd spouse? That says there’s something wrong with both you and the partners you choose. Anything over 4 just says that whoever you are was developed entirely at 14 and you never grew past that point.
That depends on their and your age. 3 marriages in a lifetime are really quite normal.
It's called performing your own due diligence.
