Are You Materialistic? Why or Why Not?

How much do you value money and objects? Do you prefer receiving a gift over affection? I'm lightly materialistic, receiving small gifts is nice and I always appreciate the thought. I also enjoy being able to pay my rent, so money does have decent value to me. I would definitely prefer affection over money or objects though, but to a certian point.

I wouldn't say I’m materialistic but I do have expensive taste. I HAVE to buy for myself. Others never pickout stuff I actually like/need/want and I’m tempted to return it. So i dont want gifts from others. Now if they voluntarily give me money, thats a different story. But I dont ask anyone for material things... more so emotional things

I'm a materialist in my own belongings, I don't really value presents and everything tho, I work hard for what I have i dont want to spend money on gifts and them on me I just think it means somethin when they show up

I still give gifts because its the way my family works and my nephew and that don't know any better but honestly if I didn't feel it was a social standard I wouldn't, it's unwanted stress, me and my mates all agree and we don't do gifts, we buy a pint for each other and spend time but yeh
