Do you buy from thrift-shops and second hand shops?

It is very popular here in Sweden where you buy a OK/used products very cheap. Once i bought a winter coat that is mocka and real fur for 20 dollars and it said (made in Western Germany) that is so warm and in a very good shape and i have been using it for the last 6 years. Plus! we buy small things for home crafting things where we feel creative, decorations and so on.

Do you go to thriftshops? Did you find something that is worth?

I used to volunteer in a second hand shop, and found lots of goodies while I volunteered there. Throughout my time volunteering there I found a waterproof jacket with lots of pockets for $6, a pack of 10 egg rings for 50 cents, a sturdy bread knife for $1, a mens kathmandu t-shirt (which is an excellent brand here) for $5, 2 formal dresses for $4 each, 3 practically brand new pots for $5 each, 2 good quality pans for $7 each, and lots of kitchen utensils for $1-$2 each.

I love them , but what I found in Australia was some of them were just getting too expensive , Im of the belief that it should be all about getting something cheap , we have also had some ( for profit ) chains open up that are huge..

They all used to be small and mainly for Charity.

I volunteered to work at the salvos and anytime they saw a brand name shirt, they would be like oh we can sell it for this price because it's a brand name. They received an adidas shirt, these shirts were quite popular back than, they wanted to sell it for $15. thing is you could go buy it brand new for $20 from rebel

However when I was pregnant and looking for a dress for my maternity shoot, I found some really cheap dresses with the retail tags on them. Retail tags showed $49 and the op shop was selling it for $10.

I do. Buying new shit is like buying the same shit except there is stickers and tags even more so all over the same thing and the price is higher.

I draw the line though with shoes... that shit is nasty.

Yes I do, and have made some really excellent purchases, both in clothing and various other items.

In return I have made many, many donations back to them.

It is becoming more popular in the US with big retails companies buying back their used products and resaling them.
I have never been a fan because I am short and petite … it’s very hard for me to find my size.
also, we have a good will store 2 blocks away…I often walk in to see if I can buy anything.
since I am also a minimalist…I don’t need anything aside from the basics.
we have been able to save more than 50% of our income because we don’t buy stuff.

I go to antique shops and car boot sales but rarely traditional second hand shops as they tend to be just granny tat.

I often buy clothes in second hand stores. Sometimes I wonder if anyone has ever worn the clothes because they look new. Second hand is much cheaper than buying everything new.
