Is it fair women have to pay for feminine hygiene products or do you think they should be like some Rx free? Not in our control like contraception v. s. abstinence or HJ or BJ, clothes or OTC meds are a tad different such as Excedrin migraine or Tylenol.

Who the hell ever said that life was - or should be - free? You want free? Do what women used to do - use old clothes (rags).

It costs money to grow and source the ingredients for these products, to design and manufacture them, to distribute, retail, and advertise them. All those people expect to get paid for their work and materials, just like you expect to get paid for doing your job. Expecting others to work for you for free is called SLAVERY.

Should my razors and shaving cream be free? How about deodorant? I didn't ask for my armpits to stink, so it should be free, right? WRONG!

You aren't entitled to food. You aren't entitled to clothes. And you aren't entitled to feminine hygiene products. And believe me, you wouldn't want them to be "free" (by which, of course, you mean paid for by taxpayers), because then you'd get the cheapest crap that anyone could make. It would be the equivalent of that ultra-thin wax paper toilet paper that many public toilets used to offer.

You should expect to pay your own way in the world just like everyone else on the planet. Having a period doesn't make you special.

Not fair especially when you consider how many places give out free condoms like it's apparently considered a need to have safe sex but not a need to have a be sanitary while bleeding that we cannot even control. Same with babies and diapers too. We are focused on giving men things like want like condoms but not focused on vulnerable women and babies in their time of acutal need? Makes no sense

I think reusable products should be provided as things like cups or discs can last up to 5 years. Period underwear also would be a good start, a say 8 pack for every 2-3 years.

This would also help with the issue of tampons and pads being in landfill and clogging up sewer systems.

In addition, some really FUCKED UP states put sales tax on it as if it's not essential!! WTF?

It should be sales TAX FREE everywhere!!

States that still have a sales tax on feminine hygiene products include:

Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. (Can you see a pattern?)

Some states that have eliminated the sales tax on feminine hygiene products include: Connecticut, Illinois, New York, and Vermont (Can you see a pattern?).

Some retailers, like CVS Pharmacy and August, have taken a stand against the "tampon tax" by paying the sales tax on period products in states that charge it.
