I'm confused as to what should be an appropriate gift for him.
What can I gift my manager in my new job?

Hmm, that's a tough one! Since you just started the job and don't know your Director super well yet, it's gotta be kinda tricky to figure out the perfect gift.
Some ideas that might work:
- A nice pen or nice notebook - those are always useful and safe gifts for professional settings.
- A fancy coffee mug or travel mug if you know he drinks a lot of coffee. Gotta keep that boss caffeinated!
- A gift card to a nice restaurant or coffee shop near the office. That way he can treat himself to a good meal or drink.
- If you know any of his hobbies or interests outside of work, you could try to find something related to that. But be careful not to get too personal if you don't know him well.
The key is to keep it professional but thoughtful. You don't wanna go over the top since you just started, but you also wanna show that you put some thought into it.
I'd maybe even ask some of your coworkers if they have any suggestions, or see if you can subtly find out a bit more about what the Director likes. That way you can get an idea of what he'd actually appreciate.
Whatever you end up getting, just make sure it's something useful and appropriate. You got this, dude! I'm sure he'll appreciate the gesture.

I would get a gift basket with different things. That way if he does not like some of the things in the basket, he might like others.
What bollocks is this secret santa thing?
Hope you leave this app for good
