Boyfriend flakes on plans a lot - normal or inconsiderate?

My boyfriend flakes on plans A LOT. Not like on real dates or serious stuff, but it still bothers me. lots of times early in the day he'll text/call me and say "let's watch a movie tonight" or "let's grab some dinner tonight" or something like that, but then when he gets off work he'll bail to play soccer with his friends or other random stuff.

it doesn't bother me if he makes alternate plans, it just bugs me that he flakes on ours to do so. sometimes I say no to other opportunities because in my mind I already had plans with him, but then he cancels.

Guys - why make plans with your girl if you're gonna cancel? is this a normal way for a guy to treat his girlfriend, or do I have a right to be irritated? I haven't told him how I feel about it because I don't want to get in a fight.

any opinions on what this means/input on how to deal with this would be appreciated!

Um you need to stop being a doormat and tell him to knock this sh*t out. You haven't brought this to his attention cause you don't want to start a fight? WTH I would be furious! You say that he does this a lot and that to me would be a total deal breaker. It seems like you just are not a high enough priority to him right now. You really haven't required that he step up tho and act appropriately so he's only part of the blame. Speak up and stand up for yourself!
