The atmosphere was tense since the appetizer. It got worse with the main course and it became explosive just before the dessert...Here are some examples to make the meal go even worse.

3. "I’m just saying that I bought the wine AGAIN this year, and I got it for a 100 bucks. That’s it."
4. "If you take my fork another time, even by mistake, I swear to god, I’ll stab you to death with it."
5. "Didn’t you already tell this joke last year?"
6. "Where did you go for vacation? Oh yeah, I went there, it was lame."
7. "Is that the main course? Is it enough for all of us? Please tell me you made something else!"
8. "*Any high grossing movie* is really shitty!"
9. "It would be nice if we share the grocery bill this year, just for a change."
10. "I resigned ..."
11. "Well, I have an announcement to make..."
12. "Is there gluten in this dish?"
13. "I don’t know if it's coming from the meat, but something smells really bad."
14. Anything that starts with "I’m not racist but…"

If you were at my family dinner all you have to say "I didn't vote for Trump" or generally say anything negative about Trump and they will crucify you.
At my family dinner it would take a few minutes for the cheering to die down.
