You don't seem to be killing yourself... You show up day after day. So what keeps you going, what do you live for, could you say it in a few words & why?

I bet all here can answer this question, and it's a very good way to take stock of ourselves and our lives, which is something we rarely get a chance to do. Guess it's a good way also to get ones focus on the primal things we care about and live for.

Anyway, for me it would be, Justice, principals, passion, romance, art, duty, ambition, obsession, love, empathy, friendship, acceptance, victory, anger, rebellion and change.

I guess I am a very driven, passionate and intense person. In fact obsessive at times. But above all I am a very soft person deep inside, I guess too soft to survive this world, so what does a guy like me do? You build the toughest shell around you, and life's knocks harden you even further. However, above all each one of us wants to be loved and excepted and I am no different. Apart from all the outward bullshit you will be shocked how much we all are alike. We humans are really a pretty miserable lot, but we are also capable of real beauty from within and out, sometimes even closer to sublime excellence. The choice is yours.

In my hardest days of life, when I thought my heart would stop from a heartbreak and my hair would turn grey, when I thought if I closed my eyes, I would just give up and die.
When I had no tears left for crying,

I still kept waking up everyday.

That’s when I thought, maybe I was born with everything necessary to withstand this heartbreak and do I have a right to give up, if my heart doesn’t stop pumping my blood, even though I commanded it to do it.

But if my body’s strong enough to handle this, survive, and wake up again, then my mind will learn to survive as well.

I will smile again and someday in future, I’ll be happy I didn’t give up and I am alive.

I am surprised myself how strong my body turned out to be survive something I never thought I could survive.

So proud and impressed by you Ms. LaFeme, I thought only a man and one who is at least of middle age could have had the maturity and temerity, to have written something of such gravitas. I usually never even look at the boy/girl username, and by the time I reached the end and was Impressed , I just started replying to your comment as if this is an old guy. Then I said to myself, just let me check at least as to who the writer is, and then I was shocked.
Anyway, Always remember, in order to enjoy the light you have to first know and experience true darkness, that way u can then savor the good times much more. Also, God never gives you all of what you want, but he always gives you all of what you may need. Further , he never gives you more than you can handle. That said, the great philosopher, Nietzsche said, " what does not kill you , will always make you stronger". I am sure, your overcoming this hard time, must have made you twice the woman you were from before this obstacle. Lastly, remember, tough times never last, but tough people do and mostly the toughest of the lot are the woman.
I consider myself to have gone through a lot of shit in my life, and in most tough times God sent me a mentor to save me, most of those mentors were very strong women. They made me the man I am today, so always do not forget this, that women can be the strongest of people and you also as a woman, have a capacity to overcome that will surprise you. I keep going strong and doing what I can every fucking day for my mother. Growing up with a single mother raising three kids on her own. All of the kids having some sort of BS going on, working her life away but ALWAYS finding time for all of us and our problems. Never complaining always doing what she could. Yeah, you wanna know why I get up in the morning and hate my life and my self? I am repaying the only person in the world that ever gave a shit.

Living life and facing hard times for me is the time to start evalutaing life and the decisions i take, it's easy for a man to feel depressed when there feels like no point to live a life and when all the doors start to seem closing on us. Doing creative things, drawing writing, music. can all help awaken the inner mind. creativity is like food to the soul. the more creative you get the more skilled you get at getting over depression.

I live by hope and prayer and opportunity. Yes life is difficult but no excuses (God knows best and whether there's exceptions). No matter the obstacles, you gotta do what you gotta do anyway (responsibilities). Or else don't even do that and make it worse.

If one doesn't take care of business first, you can't live (yet alone enjoy) your limited life.
