Lol here’s a bright idea- why didn’t the team trying to recover the Titanic, build and use a crane-like source of equipment, with a few arms to gently lift/slide the titanic or parts of it onto a thin box cage-like platform, to then hoist up to land?

Why send any form of tank that is hollow, requiring oxygen within, to house a human being within, who is very susceptible to the pressures of the oceanic depth?????????

It is quite beyond me. Do historians not WANT to recover this amazing artifact?

Are they giving up and saying it’s virtually impossible? Do we even really truly NEED humans to legitimately and comically ‘man a ship’ of any sort just to be eye-to-eye with the sleeping giant?

Clearly the titanic itself is metal and has not bursted in the water. Thin metal will not implode

BUT

any hollow form of metal with oxygen inside will… and having people in such a contraption with that knowledge and mathematical probability at the fingertips is quite the - excuse my French: IDIOT

and I figured: how interesting as well, that the Titanic re-emerges (not out of the water), but into our news media, after years of forgetfulness and such, and having that- sided with the coincidence (for me) that not too long ago I made a ‘my take’ about the titanic, and Jack and Rose specifically, and their simple faults for not surviving. Movie is great. Not 💯% accurate or in alignment with the historic stuff, but still great.

There are bacteria found within those depths of 12K feet that are eating the iron. As soon as the debris hits air it immediately starts to disintegrate. I have been to the Titanic grave yard in Halifax, Nova Scotia and there is a grave of a J. Dawson. It has been said that is just a coincidence that a grave with J. Dawson. Our guide told us that after the movie was released women where flocking to this grave sobbing.

I don't think they should do anything to remove or restore it. It's a grave site, and need to respect it as one.

Bc the Titanic isn't in one piece. It broke into. The 2 halves are so many feet apart. If it can be raised, if it tips all the stuff inside will slide out and fall back to bottom of ocean. Plus if its raised it will most likely decinigrate.

What about a project which involves taking it piece by piece and placing it into some type of tank with water or a vacuum chamber so it doesn’t get exposed to instant oxidization or so? How could it truly even disintegrate from water? Metal exposed only to oxygen and little to no water doesn’t fall apart or disintegrate 🤔😳

Its bc of the pressure that its under. The deeper the water bigger the pressure. From as deep as it is to up here to surface it would just nreak apart.
Same scenario with us humans. If we go that deep, we have to come up slowly and stop every few feet. So the pressure won't be released so fast. If we come up to fast we'd get what's called the bends. Not sure what totally can happen physically, but it can hurt and possibly kill us. Have to look it up.
