Vandalism on soft top convertible?

Hello,

A few days ago I bought a 2006 Mazda Miata that has a soft top. It looks REALLY nice and I was excited when I purchased it. I have been parking it at home in my garage. However, my boyfriend lives in a rough neighborhood and I am worried about vandalism. He does not have a garage and I would be parking it in his driveway whenever I see him. My question is... Should I be worried about vandalism to my convertible that has a soft top? I have heard stories about people cutting into convertible tops just because they can. Also about scratching the sides with a key. I would definitely appreciate some advice or whatever your experiences have been with a convertible. Do you think there is actually a greater likelihood of a convertible being vandalized vs another type of car?

My previous car which was a Dodge Neon was opened a few times there before but nothing actually stolen. Same thing with my boyfriend's Honda Civic.

Yes... I have insurance, but I still don't wanna drive around with a slashed roof.
