This is what happens when you smoke weed
The immediate effects of taking marijuana include rapid heart beat, disorientation, lack of physical coordination, often followed by depression or sleepiness. Some users suffer panic attacks or anxiety.
But the problem does not end there. According to scientific studies, the active ingredient in cannabis, THC, remains in the body for weeks or longer.
Marijuana smoke contains 50% to 70% more cancer-causing substances than tobacco smoke. One major research study reported that a single cannabis joint could cause as much damage to the lungs as up to five regular cigarettes smoked one after another. Long-time joint smokers often suffer from bronchitis, an inflammation of the respiratory tract.
The drug can affect more than your physical health. Studies in Australia in 2008 linked years of heavy marijuana use to brain abnormalities. This is backed up by earlier research on the long-term effects of marijuana, which indicate changes in the brain similar to those caused by long-term abuse of other major drugs. And a number of studies have shown a connection between continued marijuana use and psychosis.
Marijuana changes the structure of sperm cells, deforming them. Thus even small amounts of marijuana can cause temporary sterility in men. Marijuana use can upset a woman’s menstrual cycle.
Studies show that the mental functions of people who have smoked a lot of marijuana tend to be diminished. The THC in cannabis disrupts nerve cells in the brain affecting memory.
Cannabis is one of the few drugs which causes abnormal cell division which leads to severe hereditary defects. A pregnant woman who regularly smokes marijuana or hashish may give birth prematurely to an undersized, underweight baby. Over the last ten years, many children of marijuana users have been born with reduced initiative and lessened abilities to concentrate and pursue life goals. Studies also suggest that prenatal (before birth) use of the drug may result in birth defects, mental abnormalities and increased risk of leukemia1 in children.

I wouldn't judge you for it. I certainly don't think it makes you a bad person or anything like that.
Speaking as someone who's double your age, I think it's dangerous that you've decided to partake at such a young age. Also concerning is the reason why you smoke--to escape reality. You're such a young, promising girl, and while I'm not one to do any fear mongering, this is a risky behavior for you to indulge in.
Also consider this: smoking is never a healthy delivery system for any drug. People can spout off the benefits of marijuana all they want (and I believe that many of those claims may be true), but smoking anything is terrible especially for a developing body and mind.
Just some things to consider.
How smart you are doesn't make up for it, in fact it's not even relevant.
People who regularly smoke weed start talking like it all there is in life. I lived with 2 dealers who smoked around 5 a day, one was smart the other was failing but they were both just as antisocial and lazy as each other when they were smoking. A ridiculous amount of their money would be spent just setting green alight. Their reasons were the same as you 'feels good', 'it's a small escape from reality'. And your specific excuse is that you are hypersensitive? Come on that's weak. Get stronger and deal with it, don't rely on some drug to make you feel better about yourself and the world around you especially when it's temporary.
What happens more stressful events come your way, are you gonna be looking for weed to calm you down? smh
Casual/less frequent smokers (e. g. social gathering only or once every few weeks/months) weren't as bad as people that frequently smoke weed. Although, as soon as they learn where to buy it and roll it themselves they become more frequent, especially if for them it's some kind of crutch for the 'oh so stressful life'
Not to mention i'm pretty sure for you it's illegal. Whoever is giving it to you probably isn't the typical upstanding member of society, and unfortunately you have been misled.
You feel bad because you inherently know it's wrong. Your friends are right for being disappointed.
Because
1. It's still smoke. It's still damaging to your lungs.
2. Escapism. You're already using weed to escape the real world and its ugliness, who knows how far you'll take it at some point.
3. "sometimes so high I can't even walk". I think that statement kind of speaks for itself. That's not exactly a good thing. If you're getting this high in public, someone could easily kidnap you or take advantage of you. And even if you're not doing it in public, it's still dangerous.
Maybe you're being judged because you're already showing some dangerous tendencies (getting so high you can't walk, using weed as a form of escapism). It's no different from getting so wasted you pass out, or getting wasted because you want to escape reality. That's called alcoholism.
You're only 16, stop with this bullshit already before it gets out of hand.
weed is considered to be a gateway drug. gateway to other drugs and bad behavior. i know a few people who were like you, great students, dedicated, experimented with weed a bit and then six months later were total stoners. your friends are being judgmental but i think they're also genuinely worried about you. being so stoned to the point you can't even walk is not something to be proud about. there's nothing admirable, in my opinion, about attempting to escape reality in that manner. want to see something beautiful? go hiking.
You know I wouldn't judge you for smoking weed. Because it's your personal decision whether you do it or not and how often you do it. As long as you are responsible with it. I mean smoking it doesn't mean you have changed. It means you have introduced something new into your life. I mean I get it. They are worried about you for smoking weed (marijuana) but again, it's your personal decision.

If you get so high you can't walk that isn't a good thing. The reason why it's bad is not because it affects your academics (not yet at least, smoke daily for a while and see how quick that GPA nose dives), it's because it isn't good for your body or mind to have chemicals f**k with it. Weed isn't as bad for you as cigarettes, but smoking it still does damage to your lungs. My friend who was a pot head almost passed out from warm up jogging in gym because his lungs were fried from daily smoking senior year of high school. It's just not good for you long term.
Also, quit taking Horoscopes seriously, or no one will ever take you seriously.Because (some) people are stupid? Why do (some) people judge people based off of inane generalizations that come from their own experience that they project onto the whole?
Non-thinking irrational fucktards. Period.
You know what I do? Categorize them into that group and they receive zero respect for their dumbassery. But I don't let it affect me in anyway. You shouldn't either. :)There's still a major stigma when it comes to that; it will take a while for that to go away. I'm sure people are also worried about the fact that it's against the law for you to do that. Plus, getting so high that you can't even walk doesn't sound healthy.
Are you sure you're smoking weed? Lmao I've been high plenty of times but never so stoned that I literally can't walk...
They're just worried about you. Don't feel bad about yourself. Keep your grades up and continue to do good in school.>94.86 gpa
Well shit, you could own Harvard with that. Here's your problem right in your question. "I recently started to smoke weed". "Started to smoke" implies that you're using on regular basis.
96.84 GPA?
You do realize it's a 4 point scale, right? You are not going to find justification for using drugs from many people - including me.
Because weed isn't a good thing in the long run if you take it like skittles daily.
Just try to give 0 fucks
If your gpa is so high, you should know better.
just ignore them.
