My boyfriend and I were dating for 8 months and it finally ended on our eight month because he couldn't put down the pipe! He failed his first quarter of college from smoking too much weed. And I have nothing against it because I smoke too. But I do it in moderation. He can't just have a little of anything. He says he still loves me but he can never be "comfortable" with our relationship again and so he doesn't want to be together. I already went through the grieving reckless part where I got really drunk and high and did E and had sex with this other guy because I thought it would just erase everything. But it did nothing. I still miss him so much and love him so much and I want him back. I have no idea what to do or where to turn. Does anyone have advice?

I would have broken up with him too. Since I'm looking for a job right now, I haven't been smoking. But normally I do, and fairly often. I don't let it interfere with other aspects of my life though and that's important. I don't care if someone I'm with smokes weed, because that would be hypocritical of me. But if it were to the point of getting in the way of important things in life [school, work, relationships, etc], I would break it off. This guy doesn't seem to have any sense of balance, and he obviously isn't going to change. So you have to ask yourself if being with him is really going to be worth it. He can't even cope with school, so I don't think he can be what you need in a relationship.
