How much do you agree with the quote - " Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard but if talent works hard you're fucked "?

just about 100%. only way to beat "talent that works hard" is if you work TWICE as hard as them. good is good. talented people get away with so much shit if they really are just that good at what they do... they'd have to either be incredibly lazy pieces of shit or really just not that talented in the first place for "hard work" to get a step up. doesn't mean it's not possible, but it's definitely a lot harder.
What if twice as hard than the talented one means torturing ur body?
i can't think of many things that are worth that. my dad always said-- about anything-- "if it were meant to be, it would be easy." Sure you'll have to put work in for it, but I imagine that if you have to put yourself through suffering for something-- maybe it's not meant to be. For almost sure, there is at least one other thing or one other opportunity out there that is much better suited for you: something you're good at and passionate about, that you won't have to torture yourself for. Maybe it's even the same sort of thing that you're working for now, just at a different time. whatever it is, good luck. xx
Yeah i agree. I won't be an engineer if i have to torture myself by studying mathematics. Thats why i took what i love. That is biology
Then let your body burn. If you want something you have to go get it man. It doesn't matter how much you have to work at it. If you ain't got talent then fuck it, just work twice as hard. The only thing stopping you from wearing the crown is yourself. I couldn't run for shit and i was hella out of shape when my mom and sister dragged me into a 5k race then a marathon the next day. I thought i was gonna die at first. I said fuck it! I'm gonna own this shit! So i ran on the treadmill at the gym every morning and everynight. In TWO WEEKS, i was running a 5m mile. I trained so damn hard i was doing 200 push ups a day too! I tore my rotator cuff and pulled a muscle in my leg because i overworked. I smashed the competition in those races because i trained. While everyone else was doing their idle low end training i threw myself to the wolves. The difference is i came out on top because i was willing to endure the pain. When i didn't feel pain it felt fckn weird!
yes... you could be talented at anything but without practice, you will not be better than the best or the worst person and could end up trying to catch up to those who you once thought were below you.
Yeah I mean if the talented and non talented worked equally hard then that makes sad sense
How likely is that a talented person will work hard?
I agree. Talented ones get blown away in overconfidence sometimes and overestimate their abilities. Kinda like what happened to gohan during dragon ball z. And im trying hard that doesn't happen to me.
Yeah Sometimes effort is more important too.
There's definitely some truth there, especially for jobs where there are tons of people trying for very few well-paid positions (actors, musicians, athletes, etc.). For those kinds of things, if your talent is only mediocre, and not likely to improve significantly even with lots of work, then you'd better have a good "Plan B."
i would replace 'talent' with 'genetics,' maybe. Hard work implies practice, which leads to talent. Genetics are the only thing that can truly set someone apart. Basketball is a great example. The sport is dominated by tall people. All the talent in the world isn't going to help you out-jump someone two feet taller than you.
Id say hard work leads to skills. Genetics lead to talent.

pretty much so. we live in a "you're ok the way you are" bullshit society. truth is, if you're dumb (as in iq below 100), you won't get a prestigeous job and if you're a hard gainer, you won't become the hulk.
no point in disguising those truths behind a veil of mediocracy.
Depends? If it's about sport and education. It's right.
But on money luck and initiative matter most i think.
Agree entirely. It's only logical if a person born with more talent works just as hard as a person without talent, they'll get better results.
Yes, hard work can do a lot, but no, it does not always beat talent. Someone who is mentally retarded will never beat a genius at mathematics.
I have a better quote "there's a kid down the treat, who might be working harder than you. You're gonna take the kid, AND YOU'RE GONNA KILL HIM!"

Just wait for dragon ball super 2019
To an extent, no doubt.
Yup
That's why Vegeta is the best
If only gohan worked hard
Don't agree. Hard work can beat talent anytime.

There are things we have no control of like luck. But that shouldn't be an excuse to not work hard
