How do I stop being attracted to my manager?

I've been attracted to my manager ever since I started working and I can't stop thinking about him. I'm scared that my attraction is obvious because he likes to smirk at me with a knowing look and I'm pretty sure I've always kept the best straight face I can whenever I'm dealing with him. Once, I even imagined him naked and gosh that made me so uncomfortable whenever he's around me. I'm scared one day my mouth might blurt out something inappropriate. He's not married and I'm not sure if he has a girlfriend so don't worry about that. How do I stop this? It's making me anxious whenever I need to go to work!

If he knows you are attracted, despite your attempts to hide it, and your not in a relationship why not at least be honest. Do jump into a relationship with your manager, work relations almost always end badly. But if you confront the issue like an adult at least you won't feel as anxious, he's the manager and needs to manage that situation accordingly. I have had a couple employees I liked and flirted with, but always clarified I have no interest in persuing relationships and tried to clear the ackwardness, most of them are still good friends who confide in me or vise versa. Am I the only one who finds it kinda fun and sexy to have a crush on someone you shouldn't? Be it boss, professor, etc? Bottom line, attraction is something you can't help. You can't stop yourself from being attracted to him unless the pure dislike of him overpowers it. The only way to dislike him is to get to know him on a more personal level, which would mean spending more time with him. DON'T DO IT. Enjoy the fun of casual flirting and admiring him from afar. I would approach him about it in a professional manner; ask if you can speak with him privately and tell him blatantly that you are attracted to him. That, at least, would be addressing the very large elephant in the office, and the two of you may be able to either A: reach a professional compromise, or B: admit your feelings for one another.
