If guys like femininity why do they often bash feminine/girly things? (Page 3)

Question

What i mean is on here you often hear men saying that they like women who do  NOT  wear any makeup, don't dress up (wear dresses, skirts), wear jewelry, get there nails done, dislike heels etc... this is all part of the appearance of a feminine women.. obviously this isn't all guys but its something i've noticed on here in the comments, what is your take on it? This is PURELY a appearance thing and not about behavior by the way.

Because being masculine is one of the worst things most guys think they can be. A guy can have a very hard time expressing emotions or being in touch with their feelings. So even though they like feminity in a woman, they may not admit to liking or being interested in something feminine otherwise. To save face from looking less "manly".

I don't bash it, in my experience tho I have found that people who put extra effort into their looks (above getting dressed up for a date) tend to be lacking with their behaviour. I know you said purely an appearance thing but I find them linked in this case.

Define femininity how you want. If you want to wear a dress, wear a dress. if you prefer jeans, wear those. You're identity and style is yours. I know plenty of very feminine women who are "girly" and many who aren't.

I think those guys just have an extreme aversion to materialistic girls/plastic girls. Plus a lot of guys can't tell the naked makeup look isn't the same as not wearing makeup.

Actually guys do say it but I am 99% sure they don't mean it... What they mean is many times girls overdo those things which they can be avoided... If you use those things to a decent amount I am pretty sure no one would dislike it...
