Issue w/ carvana: Am I wrong for not signing the financial contract?

So I got a car through carvana.

Issue #1: I like the car that I got but there was a lack of transparency as far as cosmetics when it came to the vehicle that was not presented on the site. They have agreed to fix those cosmetic issues.

Issue #2: they send me my credit application to sign my d. o. b wrong, address wrong, state wrong , email wrong. They asked if I could sign it I told them he'll no. They said, " well internally we have the correct address and so does your financer." So I told them no again and to fix it. They said that would mean we have to resend the application to your finance and it will result in a hard inquiry on your credit report. I was pissed and told them look it's your fault! Why should I have to deal with the consequences of a hard inquiry on my credit due to your screw up? Even if they do the hard inquiry there is no guarantee the info on that application will be corrected smh. So I told them if this doesn't get fixed im getting an attorney.

You were 1000% correct. You absolutely did the right thing. The only two additional things that you might want to do is 1.) contact the local police department and make them aware of the situation, in case the person/people you're dealing with decide to get vindictive and try to report your car stolen, and 2.) don't drive the car at all until everything is 1000% squared away and correct.

I think it's good to hold them accountable because if you don't do it now, it will be harder to do once you sign everything, you might as well make sure everything is correct before you sign all the paperwork

Looks like they wanted to defraud you or someone else. Take it to the cops. Let them explain it to a higher authority.

Like seriously that's pretty much where I'm at. But I like the car, price, and the fact it is low mileage. I just know I will never ever purchase through them again. They are some real f**k ups

I left a bad review and just not going through them again. Told them I'll get an attorney and send the car back if they don't get it right. They should not be asking me to basically falsify an application. That information was incorrect

@Uptowngirl88 Not at all. When you sign a proposed agreement, it becomes a contract. With your signature, you're basically acknowledging both the proposed agreement and information in that documentation. You definitely did the correct thing. They should've had your information correct from the beginning. However mistakes happen, and they should've been more than happy to correct their documentation. Requesting you to sign a proposed agreement with incorrect information is totally unprofessional. That's where they went wrong.

I've already made it past my 7 day trial. Once I got up to my 7 day trial they sent me this fraudulent looking credit application verification. I like the car, the low mileage, it's used and in good shape. I'm extremely exhausted and don't feel like going through the car searching process again. I just know I'm not dealing with carvana ever and if this isn't fixed I will be returning the car and going elsewhere despite the 7 day trial

Don't give into their pressure tactics. What ever you decide do it quick. The longer you wait the harder it will be to do anything about it.
