Do you pull over and let emergency services pass?

I move far enough to the side; if possible without stopping, to allow the vehicle to pass easily enough that my car being any further shouldn't make a difference.
I get really annoyed when people stop or go all the way to the ass crack corner of the road. It's almost always completely unnecessary and it feels like virtue signaling. So it just makes me annoyed when I see a bunch of people do that.
Give the guy a little space on both sides, they all went to driving school if they can't handle doing 50+ mph through a space with more than 15 inches on either side of your car, you're not qualified to be an emergency responder in a driver's seat.
Well, my country made it a law a few years back...
Wasn't a big deal since every driving school teaches that it's not always necessary, but everyone can choose to be nice and give the maybe in danger life a optimal chance...
Damn, if the freeway is full of cars and an ambulance needs to get to the accident in front... first cars on the sides, drivers jump out and act like parking instructors to get it done as fast as possible
But I also think it has something to do with the mentality... like, in my country, only big cities pay their fireman and give them money for equipment... countryside does that only with donations, but the firefighters only come when the siren goes off (usual in under 7 minutes to hq) and they don't get payed at all... like something to give back to the people, serving with honor
But, in my whole country are not even 10 million people...
It is against the law to not do so. And you never know when even a minute may mean the difference between life or death for someone the ambulance is rushing to the hospital, or where a fire truck is trying to respond to a rescue or fire. On a divided highway pulling over is like wearing a mask in your car by yourself. Duh!
Even on the other side of the road.
I’ve seen ambulances and fire trucks crush plants in a center divider, and cross up the wrong side, against the flow of traffic, to get to an emergency. I’ve had to block people (not looking/thinking far enough ahead) with my bike. I get nods from firemen as they pass.

Unless I'd be blocking them (happened just the other day; many cars ahead of me, and the only place to pull off would be the shoulder, which my pulling into would block). The priority is them getting where they need to quickly; propriety ranks far below that.
Yes, I move over to the side if they are in the same lane or heading the opposite direction unless it's a divided road or there is a median in the middle and I know they won't use the lanes I'm in. Someone needs their services and every second counts so don't obstruct them.
You also don't know who they are going to pick up or help, it could be someone you love or care about. A few years back I was on my way into work and an ambulance with it's lights on came up behind me and as usual I pulled to the side to let them pass. As I go past the scene I see a little Honda passport that had veered off the road and crashed into a building. I get to work and get a call from my girlfriend at the time, her grandma was in a car accident... yep, the same one I passed. She apparently had some medical issue and blacked out and crashed. Luckily she wasn't hurt, but her car was totaled.
Hell yeah I do. It’s respectful, and it’s the law. You don’t know what’s going on inside, and if you or a loved one was the one being transported, you’d make sure they were able to get help the fastest way too.
Hell Yes! I'm a retired LEO
and I KNOW how important 'Code Three' calls are!
Sometimes lives hang in the balance!
(Ex: 'Active Shooter' calls! MOST fatalities occur in FIRST 15 minutes,
when 'Blaze of glory, Remember Me' shooter meets NO armed resistance! )
"Day or Night... in a black & white; YOU call, WE HAUL, Y'all! "
Of course. Though the most important part is getting the hell out of the way, not necessarily stopping. I've seen way too many people stop in the middle of the road and block the ambulance.
Yes. Sadly in some areas (NY, PA, NJ, DE), you can never merge back into traffic once you've pulled over because the other drivers refuse to pull over and zoom by.
Yeah I do. They're allowed to fine you if you don't. Will they, probably not. But they could
Yes, I get out if their way as best I can. Some day it could be me in that ambulance.
Hell all it takes is 1 person to mess it up to make a person live or die maybe
I'm sure that you get a pretty hefty fine if you don't
It's the law where I live. So unless I don't see them quick enough to, I do.
Yes, I always do this. These guys have a hard enough job as it is without people refusing to let them get through.
They usually cannot keep up with my own 'speed'.
But I'll always make sure that I don't obstruct them.
In our country it is a criminal offense to block an ambulance or a fire truck on call
In my country, everyone has to clear the way for the police, ambulance and firetrucks.
When it happens, its tesmwork for the greater good and it brings tiers to my eyes.
Yes…. It’s the law. I don’t care how late you are or where you’re going someone’s having a worse day then you and in a emergency seconds count. Get the hell out of the way
Technically if one is behind you and approaching, you are to slow down, and pull over. Not sure if this is by law, or the exact terms of the law, but, it should be.
Well duh, it's not only the law but it's the right thing to do!
I always do.

(by the way, look at the first comment on this video lol.)
Absolutely. I hope others would do the same if those vehicles were on the way to someone I cared about.
Yeah of course somebody's life might be in danger let alone the fact that you might get a fine for not doing so
Of course especially when they’re flashing the sirens
Yes, because its the law and I can get ticketed for it.
Oh yes definitely for the simple fact how do you know it's not a loved one of yours or someone close and dear to you they're trying to get to to perhaps save rescue or I guess in my case, apprehend LOL
True
No I drive faster, jam on my ebrake and flip my car in front of them. Just to make shit worse for everyone
Yes I do, but I see so many idiots who don’t move over for them.
yes, we are giving way to emergency vehicles coming from behind.
yes and then I try to get in behind them to get past traffic... lol
Yes, Because if the Police are nearby they can charge you.
Yes I do, always.. everyone has to clear the way for the police, ambulance and firetrucks. It's an emergency tho
Yes. Some people don’t. It drives me nuts. I had to honk non stop to get someone to move because no one else would got the vehicle to move.
You have to, or it could be a big fine from local law.
Well, I don't have a drivers license. But wveryone has to. It's the law.
Obviously. Find a safe and convenient place to pull over.
Hell no!! Why would they be driving on the sidewalk in the first place?
Yes, of course We all need to cooperate in such situations.
No, As long as your not impeding their forward progress it's fine. As long as they have the left lane I don't see the need to pull over.
You have to, its illegal not to in most if not all countries
You better if there is room. Next time it might be you needing assistance!
Certainly, especially if it's an ambulance or fire truck.
Yes, it might be you in it some day or a relative in it
That's the law right? I'm pretty sure it's illegal to not get out of their way.
YES... it is the LAW, someone's LIFE hangs in the balance
Yes, that is someone's loved one in the back of the ambulance, and one day it could be you or your own friend or relative
Breaking news: Everyone does
Unfortunately not.
Here, we alr obliged by law to do so.
Yea, it would be very selfish of me if I didn't
Yes. It's the law and just plain common sense.
If I had a chance to pull over and flip them off I would.
Of course. It's illegal not to do that
I do when I’m able to
Yes of course
Definitely
Yes, if I can. I'm not a complete asshole.
True, a complete asshole wouldn't pull over for the police either.
well yeah you have to.
Yes because that's could happen for everyone...
As long as it is safe to do so, then yes.
Yes, you are suppose to
Move over to whatever extent possible.
Absolutely.
Yes. Its the law.
