I'm rarely in a normal place with my thoughts. :-D I think I was also influenced a bit by talks from Elon Musk. He tends to describe the internet as a way to connect everyone together into one macro-organism although with very limited bandwidth to communicate from one part to the other.

One theme I'm wondering about is the idea of maintaining autonomy vs. connectivity. Might the two be mutually exclusive at some point? Suppose the bandwidth improved to the point where we could transfer thoughts to each other at such rapid rates that they appear as quickly as our own. Will we then be able to distinguish our own thoughts so clearly from those that others transfer to us? Things like that.
